What is Lifecast have the same update in the queue of iTunes?
There seems to be 8 updates with the same version number on my iTunes account, also it seems that my phone and the iTunes store do not agree what the current version is...

I'm sorry you're experiencing these problems. Unfortunately the update process seems to be very fragile at the moment. My advice in the first place would be to switch your iPhone off and then on; afterwards, plug it into iTunes and sync it.
As a last resort I would delete your LifeCast installation and try re-installing it. But beware this will mean you lose you LifeCasts from your phone - so you might try posting them if you want to ensure you keep your photos etc for posterity.
This is the first I've heard of having 8 updates and I'm blaming that squarley on the update process rather than on our software! ;-)
