What is the possibility of a facebook app for lifecast?
I love lifecasting! I love sharing what I've seen and linking that to where I've seen it. It actually makes me pay more attention to what's cool around me so I can share it. So thanks for this app.
Here's there reason I'm here. One of the main reasons I like facebook is the ability to tag friends in pictures. The extra info this provides and the way photos are then grouped adds an extra dimension to a photo. I reckon that the geotagging feature of the iPhone has the potential to add another similar possibility to photos, the ability to put an event or situation in the context of it's location. If I go out on a day trip and take some cool pics, my friends can see what I saw and where I saw it. Or a pub crawl. Or a holiday. I love what you've done with lifecast, but I don't expect my friends to check my tumblr page instead of or as well as my facebook page. Is this a something you guys might explore? If the facebook app for the iPhone geotagged photos, I would actually consider not bothering lifecasting to tumblr, although I would still update my blogger account.

Yes, a Facebook app is definitely one of the ideas he have thought about - I agree that it would be an ideal way to share your LifeCast. At the moment though, it's probably going to be little while before we can turn our attention to integrating Facebook - we just have so many other cool things to work on. There's a possibility that once we get beyond v.1.2 we'll have a chance to look into it.

Thanks for the feedback. There are a whole raft of possibilities for Lifecast which we are considering. Andy posted a 'roadmap' for the near future here

however in response to your question(s). Yes there is a 'possibility' of facebook albums support but as you might imagine we are now faced with a fairly large task of prioritising all our users wishes. Obviously facebook has a very large user footprint and we are very interested in 'capturing' some of that user base.
We hope to see blogger imaging fully integrated by version 1.1 (due week starting 4/8/08).
Of course anyone who reads this thread and wants facebook albums to be supported should click 'I have this question too' which will only help the cause of getting support for facebook onto LC.

Inappropriate?On the "tagging people" topic. I believe Picasaweb supports this now. No idea if it is usable via the API's you are posting with though. Just a thought. :)
