What's up with the next version?
Hey lifecast team,
Just thought I'd let you know that my family is loving your program. My wife and I are able to update all the time, so my family and friends can keep up with my life from abroad. I was just curious what kind of features you'll be adding in the next update and when to expect it. Thanks for all the hard work.

Inappropriate?Hi
I'm glad you like LifeCast! The next version (1.0) solves the pictures in blogger problem. At the moment tumblr blogs accept pictures but the blogger API only accepts text so we have to 'work around' this limitation..
As for when it will be released, well, we are scheduling it for early August however it took our last update almost 2 weeks to go from subitted to live on the App Store so my most conservative estimate would be mid August.
Regards
Damien
I’m happy

Damien means 1.1, not 1.0 -
Inappropriate?oh ok. I was kind of hoping you guys were doing more. I thought I saw a post talking about new ways of posting. Like audio posts? I thought I saw another iPhone app that could do that. Well...keep up the good work n thanks!

Inappropriate?oooh - harsh!
Yes we are looking into audio posts and we are also looking at various other blogs (and things such as image repositories like picasa and flickr etc). Trouble is it's a great big amount of stuff and it all takes time to do [right].
Our current version, 1.0.1 has addressed many fixes which our users have highlighted and our next version, 1.1 satisfies our number one user wish, i.e. pictures in a blogger blog.
1.2 is currently looking like it will address Wordpress BUT betweeen now and it's actuall release things may change.
As for audio - there are approximately five or so apps I have found that record audio and play it back but as far as I know - none of them post either as email or to any internet repository. When we do audio, and we are determined to do it it will be as part of our blogging philosophy so we need to have a whole lot of background work implemented to support audio blogging.
Is audio blogging what you are primarily interested in?
Regards
Damien

Inappropriate?Something we've added in 1.1 is vastly improved photo support - not only will you be able to post photos to Bloger, you'll also be getting them in much higher resolution than we've supported to date. This might actually be a bit of a double-edged sword as I'm sure some users will complain that it takes way too long to upload photos over EDGE or even 3G. I might have to add a 'size' option for photos....
As for other features, I'm working on them all the time, but our philosophy is to get important feature updates and bug fixes to you as soon as they are ready. So instead of sitting on the Blogger photo posting features until the audio recording is also added, we'd rather just give you the Blogger photo posting as soon as possible, while we work on something else.
