Image and Notes conversion fails on Mac PPT 2004

Images don't convert when I upload from PowerPoint 2004 on the Mac. Most of the images come produce a TIFF Conversion error, even though they weren't TIFFs when inserted, and the Notes don't show up.

how do I fix broken hyperlinks

I have ppt slides with hyperlinks in the text but the links get stripped off when uploaded. Links have worked OK in the past. I can't see any obvious way to solve this
