Audio synced in sync tool but out of sync when published
My audio is perfectly synced up in the sync tool but gets out of sync when I publish the file (almost 40secs off at times). I have tested this on multiple machines and am still having the same problem. Please help!

Inappropriate? The same problem! after finish save and pulish, my slidecast has only 1 end-mark, so the picture don't change automatically .I have to change myself.
Watch my slidecast at http://www.slideshare.net/mahaoath/1-...
I do need help from you.
be well
I’m confused, too.

Inappropriate? Both of my two most recent presentation have had this problem! It's worked perfectly for 6 presentations in the past, but this is a complete mess. Slideshare, can you help!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?James, we're working on, it seems a recent update to our player has introduced a couple of audio bugs.
-
You posted this 6 months ago and I am still experiencing this problem. How much longer do you expect to be working on it? -
Inappropriate?Definitely having this problem as well. Do you have any idea how long it will take to fix the problem? And when it's fixed, will there be a notification here?
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?Anders, if you're having trouble with your slidecast, please send us a link to the presentations/slidecast or your SlideShare id so we can check it out.
We did fix the problem 6 months ago or else this post would have been filled with complaints! :)

Inappropriate? Here is the slidecast in question

After posting my comment, I had someone check the sync issue on a Mac and they said they did not have a problem. I'm using a PC with XP SP3 FF3.
Thanks for your help!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I checked with Chrome and FF3 on Vista just now and it seems to be ok to me. Obviously I haven't played through to the end though, but as long as the audio and slides are buffered, they seem to play in sync.
Did you see a sync problem between specific slides or any other problem? -
Inappropriate? It seems the audio goes more and more out of sync the further ahead you click. For example, if you click forward to slide 14 (which is titled "The Agile Manifesto"), the audio I hear is from half-way through slide 12: "I also want to talk about pushing back..."
-
Inappropriate?Anders, that doesn't seem to happen with me. I allowed the audio to buffer past the start of the 14th slide (you can see it as a darker grey bar) and then rapidly clicked "next slide" until I got to the 14th one.
The audio I heard started with "...with this. For those of you have not, essentially the Agile manifesto..." which I assume is the correct audio for that slide.
I'm not sure if this will help, but could you clear your browser cache and re-load the page? (Also allowing the audio to buffer ahead a bit before you hit play might help too.) -
Inappropriate?Cleared the browser cache, as well as tried using a different browser (Chrome), but this did not solve the problem.
I also tried allowing the audio to buffer ahead a bit, but this did also not seem to solve it.
I also tried accessing the site using a different internet connection, but that did not help either
Since no one else is having this problem, I am wondering if the problem maybe just is some quirk with my laptop. (A Z60 Thinkpad) -
Inappropriate?I'm definitely still having this problem, and never had it resolved six months ago. Extremely frustrating!
Here's one of the problem presentations:

Inappropriate?I was having this problem with a slidecast where the audio was playing for a very short amount of time per slide. But I must say, it is now fixed. And the subsequent slidecasts that I've created have worked great.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?Anders, I'm not so sure it's a computer problem, but it's definitely puzzling me why it works for me (and other people as you say) but not for you. Anything unusual you know about the config? Browser, Flash, etc?
James, I had a look at your presentation and played through the first 6-7 slides (about 5-6 minutes of audio) and didn't think there were bits out of sync. Do you know of specific places (or cases) where it goes out of sync?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Ashwan,
We're also experiencing this problem on a number of our slidecasts where the audio goes out of sync with the presentation if you pause or try to navigate through the slides.
We've tried it in Firefox 3 using Windows XP SP3 with Shockwave 10.0 r12 and r22 on two different PCs. Also tried in Chrome and IE7. We've waited until the status is displaying "buffered".
For example. http://www.slideshare.net/wmro/beyond...
Slide 3 should begin at 2.15 with "So if we look at it in terms of..."
Slide 4 at 4.15 with "And so we can pick at lots of..."
Slide 5 at 7.13 with "And also when we begin to look at the statistics..."
Slide 6 at 10.23 with "What we're suggesting, what we think is necessary..."
etc.!
If you move forward in the slides, the audio is not in sync with the slides however the time stamp for the audio for that slide appears to be correct, but what is heard is not the audio at that time stamp. So, on slide 5 for example, the time does display 7.13, but the audio is not "And also when we begin to look at the statistics..."
Thanks for any assistance that you can provide.

Inappropriate?Hi,
Every now and then I get this problem too. Most of the time it disappears if I save my audio with Super, as an mp3, stereo, sampling freq. 44100, bitrate 128. I can save my audio the same way in WavePad, but that does not give the same results, i.e. then the audio does go out of sync (about 2x as fast as the slides).
It would be helpful if SlideShare would provide us with guidelines for the way mp3's should be saved. -
Inappropriate?Hi Elly. Thanks for comment. We've been using Audacity with the Lame encoder (http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/) to edit and create our audio files with a sample rate of 44100 Hz and 32-bit float sample rate format. There's lots of different setting options, so if, as you say, the guys from SlideShare could provide guidelines, that might help us!
Do you have a link to the software that mostly works for you (I tried searching, but got a lot of other stuff like Swedish pop duos!) -
Inappropriate?Like I said, I use Super, which turns up on top of the list when I Google for it. Here is the link http://www.erightsoft.com/Superdc.html
-
Inappropriate?Thanks Elly - we'll give that a go.
-
Inappropriate?Ok, now I think we've got a clear description of the problem!
Going back to the presentation I posted:
If I listen to it straight through, it works fine. If I skip ahead in the slides, it immediately gets out of sync, perhaps playing the audio 2x two fast.
(I think I did record it at 22KHz to save space.)
So this is definitely a SlideShare bug, and one that is reproducible. Can we therefore:
* Get it fixed
* If not, get clear guidelines of the audio format and sampling rate we should be using to make it work properly
Thanks, James
