Blank Slides in Keynote Upload
Howdy,
I uploaded my first presentation to SlideShare this week, a Keynote ’09 presentation called Unit Test Your Database!. I'm pretty happy with how it turned, out except for one thing: There are a bunch of essentially blank slides, that is, nothing but background. You can see this on the second slide, for example.
This appears to be the case on slides where there was an animation that automatically came after the slide transition. I think that what should happen is that such automatic transitions should be ignored, and the first item should just be on the slide, rather than nothing.
FWIW, I exported from Keynote to PDF with all transitions, and Keynote did the same thing. If SlideShare is just using Keynote's PDF export, then it's likely not your bug. I'll bitch to Apple, too.
Thanks,
David

Inappropriate?FYI, I've filed this with Apple as Bug ID# 6922681.

Inappropriate?Hi David,
Thanks for getting in touch and apologies for the late response.
When exporting to pdf from Keynote there is an option to "Print each stage of builds"; unchecking it should make the blank slides go away.
We deliberately keep all stages of builds to avoid data loss in cases cases where builds are more than just cool transition effects.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Yes, but if I checked that box, then I'd lose the other transitions. It is only those animations that occur automatically after a slide transition that need to go away. What I asked Apple for, and now ask you, if you don't use the PDF export, is to provide a checkbox to disable this one particular kind of transition.
Thanks,
David
