can't search for my username, group or event

I created the user msslions yesterday and I can login, update my profile etc. I created a group for my class to post to and I can see it in my profile but I cannot see it when I search. I also created an event and the same issue occurs. All the settings for my profile, group and event are set to public.

What is the issue?
