Hi. I have a pps which contains animation and music imbegded in the presentation. The slide show was also set to advance the slides automatically. After uploading the file, it was convered into a plain PowerPoint which had to be advanced manually, and the music was missing. Can someone tell me what I did wrong, or is it not possible to upload a file with animation and sound? Thanks!

I have uploaded slideshows with music and animations and have had no problems - both have played very well. I don't know what Amit meant when he said that Slideshare does not support music and animations embedded in a presentation. ????

I have made many slide shows with animation, music and I had the slides advance automatically.Uploaded it to Slideshare. I then downloaded my slide show from Slideshare to make sure the animation, music and slide advancement worked. Guess what !!! It all worked GREAT. Check out Some of my slide shows by downloading them and you will see for yourself. Not all of my slide shows have music and animation. If you go to Doina's slide shows and down load any of them you will find a lot of animation, music and slide advancement.
There could be so many reason why your presentation lost all of the special effects. If you send me your slide show privately using Slideshare I will check it out for you and send it back to you privately and then you will be able to upload it onto Slideshare with no problems. Spider :)

Can you give the code for the convert ppt to flv?

I often have pps files convert to manual with no music. Just RESAVE them to a PowerPoint Show. Go to File, Save As, and choose PowerPoint Show.
