Why can't I change the display order of My Slideshows?
My Slideshows seems to only display one way: from the most recently uploaded on down. Is there a way to change that to alphabetical?

Inappropriate?I know this is a beta, but to me that would have been something early on in the process that you would have developed.
I’m looking down on your SDLC

Inappropriate?I have uploaded various conference presentations over consecutive years. Some presentations are follow-ons to earlier ones, so having the ability to put them in the order that I choose is important to me. As is the ability to link from one to the other (e.g. presentation B in 2006 is directly related to presentation A given in 2004). Date or alphabetical should be the minimum, but the ideal would be to specify the order YOU (the author) wanted, with the facility to move a presentation up or down in the list as YOU decide.

Inappropriate? We hear you... stay tuned... we'll have it some time very soon.

Inappropriate?Hi Folks,
I agree! I need to upload a number of older presentations; however, the current configuration does not permit us to change the dates (backdate, for example) so we can upload older presentations or reorder them.
This is really, really important. Did I say, it was very important?
I’m hopeing they fix this soon!
-
Inappropriate?Well, look at the history... 7 months ago they had a plan to do this soon, 5 months ago they were going to have it very soon... seems to me a sort function is not all that complicated. That's why I'm looking into Google docs.
I’m sticking out my tongue at your developers.

Inappropriate?Hi Russ,
Google docs does not format PPT very well and they don't have nearly as good social networking features as SlideShare.
Best is for SlideShare to simply add the capability to change the dates of entries, similarly to how blog posts are updated.
I’m hopeful.

Inappropriate?download all your slides
delete all slides in slideshare
go to adobe....JUST KIDDING
upload your slides in the order you want them to appear.
I also use numbered thumbnail images to tell people w/c one is first.

Inappropriate? This STILL hasn't been fixed despite "We hear you... stay tuned... we'll have it some time very soon. " 9 months ago!!! 9 months seriously that is ridiculous for something as simple as alphabetically sorting something, it really shouldn't be that difficult.
So Slideshare, any idea when this will be availabe (please don't say 'soon' as we know that that could mean anything up to 9 months!)
I’m confused!
-
Inappropriate?I have a similar question: I bulk uploaded 3 presentations, named part 1, part 2 and part 3, but they appear in the wrong order.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I don't necessarily need to have alphabet priority- I just want to arrange the order so that I can determine which thumbnails appear on my LinkedIn account page. I can image a point in the future where I may want to set the order of the presentations by subject (or alpha) so some type of manual ability to manage my presentations would be great!
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate? Why can't they fix this simple thing?
Just add a simple "Display Order" or "Priority Weight" field to the database and add to the metadata for each slide. Very easy. Then when displaying use this parameter to order.
Solved :-) Please do it. Thanks.
I’m unhappy with slikeshare

Inappropriate?Tom,
On linkediN you can do this; go to the sldieshow page in linked (loggedin), you will see a link that says "show on profile"... select that... the last 4 slidshows selected by this way will show on your profile...else the defaultis the last four uplaodd slideshows... check out the help section on the linkedin app... it has the details
on slideshare, yes this is still not done... -
Amit,
I do not see a way to select slideshows to display on linkedin: it is either none, the 2 last, or the four last, but if I want to select 2 specific ones, I do not see how. I could use tags, but I do not see anywhere where I can select that, too.
TIA for any help,
Elly -
Inappropriate?Any news on when?

Inappropriate? If you want to change the view of slide show which is not possible right, i give you one suggestion. First load all the presentations to your pc from slideshow. Edit your presentations with the help of resolution display software, then you upload it on slideshare again. You do it whenever you upload new presentation. bye

I’m confident

Thanks Jane. I do not wish to change the view, only the order. And when I reload the presentation, the link to my audio is lost and I have to synchronize all over again, as all my presentations are slidecasts. -
Inappropriate?Looks like a year later this is still not an option? Any updates that I am missing? Even when I upload in the order I want them in, they do not stay in that order. Maybe slideshare knows best.....hmm...
Thank you. -
Inappropriate?I too would like to re-order and create sub-dir for presentations. I've not uploaded hundred of PPT because of this.
-
Inappropriate?+1 to Russ's question. Though it seems as if this is never going to get resolved.
I’m mad
-
Inappropriate? The way I think I'll be getting around this is to convert the PowerPoint slides to images and upload that to Google Docs. I'll let you all know what happens so we can jump ship. The lack of response to this issue is ridiculous. I have dozens of slideshows that I haven't uploaded because I can't keep them straight through their awful interface.
I’m about done with this.

Inappropriate?Russ, Brandon, Don, Nicole..
We are building something that is likely to put out in the next 10 days... that should help you do this... however I would like to understand this better. We have heard requests from various users, but they seem to be asking for different things.
Can I request you to email me at my personal Id "amit AT slideshare DOT com"... and let me know what exactly is it that will allow you to do what you want. I dont promise that we will necessarily do what you want, but it will help us all the same.
