Activities vs Projects
Activities are different from projects and should be separated. Activities in slife are focused on applications or sets of applications, which is great, activities are needed - I have a useful activity called data analysis that includes several applications I commonly use to analyze data. I have several different research projects where I do data analysis as well as other activities like taking notes, reading, writing. It doesn't make sense to have a project in the same bucket as an activity, it needs a separate list that acts differently. Firstly there needs to be some manual component because slife can't tell when I'm reading a web page about mysql while I'm working on one project versus reading a very similar page while working on another project - maybe it can under some circumstances but I need to be able to override it since it won't be perfect. I'm sure there are strategies that slife can use to recognize when I switch projects, folder naming or whatever, but this is a fundamentally different thing than an activity and encompasses activities.

Inappropriate?I agree with you Ericka. The challenge here is that you add complexity to the app. In addition to associating apps and docs with activities, you also need to associate activities with projects. For power users, that's not a problem, but it might be overwhelming for beginners. Just a thought.
I don't know if you've had a chance to read the user guide, but it's possible to override activities manually using the Slife menu bar icon. You can read more about it here:

Thanks for your suggestion. -
Inappropriate?Since this program already does the work by tracking the time spent on files and programs , it may... and I say that because i'm making assumptions about how the db is set up... not be too difficult to just create an association with those files and programs with a project and just add the those usage times in a separate view. Since your tracking the time already this may not be too difficult.
I’m hopeful!
