Drag Documents to Activities
When looking at the "Web & Docoments" view, please drag & drop the documents to activities in the sidebar, and remember to associate those documents with that task in the future. That way we can organize what we've done even if we've already done it.

Inappropriate? We are thinking of removing the activities in the side bar. It's been a bit confusing to people.
One way to associate applications/documents/pages with activities is with the Slife menu bar icon. When using an app, document, click on the icon and set the activity using the "Set" menu items. -
Sorry if this betrays my cluelessness, but I can't find any "Set" options in the Slife menu-bar menu. I'm using Mac version 3.0.1. Am I looking in the wrong place? -
Inappropriate? They are kind of confusing. Also, it took me a while to figure out that double-clicking an activity name starts & stops recording time for the activity. I think there problems could be fixed with better documentation, though. All I've been able to find so far are 4 videos.
What I'm really looking or is a way to attribute the time I spent to activities, after I've spent that time, and have slife learn for the future. So, at the end of the day, if I could get something like the web & documents view, but filtered so it only shows items that aren't part of an activity, then associate each of the items in that view to an activity, and have Slife remember that association for the future, that would be great. Hopefully after a few days there would be very few items in that web & documents to sort.
I know that the original idea of Slife was a black box, and that's still a great idea, but, especially since it supports activities, (something that I think it really has to do to be truly useful), Slife needs a way to learn each user's computing habits, and activity-ize, (you know, like categorize), all of the non-activity time that is, in real life, part of an activity. -
Inappropriate?Definitely a great suggestion. We will be making some changes to the way this works in the next Slife update. I love this too:

I’m excited. Activities will be easier to setup.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks ;) I just read about Slife the other day and started trying it out. It seems great, just needs that extra kick in the pants to make it really, really useful.
-
Inappropriate?I agree! We are definitely eager to give it that extra kick ourselves.

Inappropriate? The activity gems had me confused, so I'm glad they're gone in 2.0.1.
In the Web and Documents view, it would be nice to right-click and select an activity to apply that document to. -
Inappropriate?Any more progress on this?
I'm using the Windows version, and there is no menu item, so no easy way to add a document or web page to an activity other than via the preferences dialog, which is not very intuitive. -
Inappropriate?Yes, next version of Slife for Mac will have this feature. Slife for Windows will have it in the upcoming release or the next one. It's coming! We realize it's an important feature to have.
-
Inappropriate?Another idea for how to do provide an interface for this: allow right-clicking in the 'web & documents' view, bring up a menu of activities, and let the user select the activity to which the document should be assigned.

this is one of the best points

I am pretty sure this is how we are going to implement the feature! -
I'm really looking forward to this. Ideally, I could select a whole group of "web and document" items and add them to an activity in one batch. If it were one by one, maintenance of this system would be a killer. -
@ Cornelius: that's a good point. It should ideally allow you to option-select multiple items out of the list, then right click, and assign the same activity to all the selected items. -
Inappropriate?I agree, progress on this would really make Slife life a lot more useful.
