This is what happens when you want to save money for a goal at 2am!
I started my smartypig account 2 weeks ago and tonight I went to log in for the first time since then. I realized after several attempts, that I misspelled my username. Can I change my username? I have made the initial deposit but not a first month deposit yet. Thanks!
Give me the ability to control my 'monthly contribution' manually, without calculating based on $Goal and date of goal completion. Perhaps I want to add $50/mo. now, and $150/mo. later on in the process. Don't make me enter in an inaccurate date to get the results (monthly contribution) I want.
You shouldn't have to "fool the computer" to get the monthly withdrawal where you want it.
ex. Say I want to set up an "iMac" savings ccount. I want to buy the machine in 1 year. Right now, I can only afford to spend $25/mo., but in 6mo. from now I could afford to spend $200/mo. Why, when I set my goal, and my goal completion date, does SmartyPig REQUIRE that I pay the total price divided by the # of months? I can't AFFORD anythign more than $25/mo. right now... plus, what about contributions? The site is based off of contributions from other people too, but the way my monthly contribution is calculated seems to not consider this fact at all!
SmartyPig should TELL ME what I would have to add per month to reach my goal in time, and adjust monthly accodingly, but let me set my actually contribution manually without having to enter in a completely inaccurate time to get what I want. You shouldn't have to play tricks around the computer and fool it into thinking one thing, when you're doing another. Especially since changing your goal date can affect outsider contribution.
Can I create a joint Smarty Pig account? ...My husband and I both want access to the account for deposits/withdrawals. Right now, it looks like only one person can have that access and the other can only view.
There should be an automated method for telling your friends about SmartyPig. And even better would be to add an incentive, like money added to your SmartyPig account when said friend opens and keeps a goal going.
how can i set it up so that i have 2 external accounts linked... on that does the monthly transfers and one that i can do manual transfers? is that poss? from 2 diff accounts?
Is there a date that interest is paid? It says that interest gets paid quarterly. Is that the last day of March, the last day of June, the last day of October, and the last day of December?
I read in a Wall Street Journal article and an on line response a paragraphs that said "If the transactions take longer than two business days, complain to the bank where the transfer originated. Nacha doesn't regulate how long a bank can hold onto a deposit "pulled" from another bank to be sure the funds are there. But it does have rules, and can assess fines, if funds "pushed" from another bank aren't credited quickly."
MY QUESTION IS IF
If I log onto my SmartyPig account and I Hit the "ADD TO" my Smarty Pig fund button and initiate funds be drawn from my Alaska financial institution to be transferred TO my Smarty Pig Account,
1) IS Smartypig the "bank initiator as defined by the WSJ article since I initiated the transfer from Smartypig?
2) In the I log onto my Smartypig account and click ADD TO scenario, are funds being PULLED or PUSHED into my SmartyPig account?
3) In the I log onto my Smartypig account and click ADD TO funds button scenario, if the funds are PUSHED from Alaska into my SmartyPig account, what are the NACHA minimum and maximum hold times Smartypig can hold my money (not paying me interest) before depositing the funds into my account? And, what is Smartypig hold time for PUSH funds?
4) In the I log onto my Smartypig account and click ADD TO scenario, if the funds are Pulled from Alaska into Smartypig and there is no NACHA hold regulation for Pulled funds, what is Smartypigs Pulled Hold time policy?
What is SmartyPigs HOLD TIME (hours or days or what) policy on PULL (Collection) funds? (the funds received from another financial institution BY Smartypig/TRANSFERRING INTO Smartypig). Also, what are the minimum and maximum HOLD TIMES for PULL FUNDS as determined by NACHA. http://pubs.nacha.org/rules.html has an ACH Rules manual for $55 but I don't want to pay for it when SmartyPIG being a financial institution knows the answer. Also, does SmartyPIg and West Bank have the SAME HOLD TIME on PULL FUNDS?
What is Smartypigs HOLD TIME (hours or days or what) policy on PUSH (Disbursement funds)? (The funds consumers request be moved FROM smartypig to another financial institution) and what are the minimum and maximum hold times allowed by the http://pubs.nacha.org/rules.html. I don't want to pay $55 to find out the the min/max hold times when SmartyPig knows it and I shouldn't have to read (although I did and couldn't find it) buried somewhere what SmartyPigs hold time for PUSH funds is.
What is the name of the automated clearing house operator Smarty Pig uses and does SmartyPig use the same automated clearing house operator as West Bank? Examples of a private ACH American Clearing House Association or does SmartyPig use the Fed ACH?
Well im watching the interest build up each day.. slowly of course but its been a full month with 10 days past and i figured that the interest would be paid at the end of the month but so far nothing. Just wondering at what intervals does the interest get paid out?
Does SmartyPig transfer ACH or EFT funds into a mutual funds sweeps account or any other money making account at any time? I read on line that Bank of America will take a customer's Keep the Change savings and transfer the money into the sweeps account at night and re-transfer it back to your own savings in the morning. The catch is that they don't bother to tell customers this when they apply for a savings account and I am curious about SmartyPig doing something like this.
Registration: Identity Verification asks me to confirm details on accounts that I do not have!
I'm currently stuck on step 9 of registration. The first two questions concern an account that I know I do not have - I'm a lifelong renter who has never owned property, and they are about a supposed mortgage I opened in April 2003 (??).
I'd prefer to avoid my application being canceled, so, what should I do?
Once the goal is met, rather than closing the goal, can I just update it to a larger goal. So, I would never actually take anything out in the form of a transfer or a cash card.
thanks
Does the debit card function ans a regular checking account debit card? Will I receive it automatically in the mail after opening a smartypig account or must I close my goal or reach it in order to receive a debit card? I am confused as I would like to have immediate access to the funds whether I have met my goal or not.
