information shown to friends re: goal
i've marked that i'd like "no information" to be given on my account when friends log in,
yet it still says the percentage of the goal on the page- it's confusing to them when it says "98 percent" reached, but that's only because we're trying to keep our automatic monthly contribution low.
is this a glitch?
i love smartypig, but i'm still confused as to what actions contribute to "the goal percentage"-
when others contribute? when i contribute more than my normal monthly amount?
or ONLY what my scheduled monthly contribution is?
i want for friends to be able to see a proper percentage, and not think that i've reached my goal.
thanks!

@C,
Yep. That is a glitch and one that is actually on our list to resolve in the next couple of weeks.
Things that affect your percentage will include your monthly contributions, any additional transfers you make into the goal via the "add money" tab in your account and gifts from friends and family. It truly is a percent to goal. But keep in mind that the goal percentage will not change until funds have actually "cleared" into your goal and/or you have "accepted" gifts from others. Pending gifts or pending transactions do not affect the percent to goal.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?thank you for the quick response...
it does make it very confusing to send family the alert for the goal,
though, because they're always going to see a misleading percentage.
we also have to update our goal constantly to keep up with making it look like the right percentage, while making sure we're not stuck with more per month than we'd like to contribute. we never really know what it will show them as far as how far along in our goal we are. it is the main reason for using your site as opposed to ing- the fact that others can contribute, and the higher rate, it's wonderful, but this glitch makes it a bit of a pain. on another note-
we're saving for a trip for our daughter, and it turns out she'll need half
the money in mid-february- do we have to close the whole goal to get the
funds, and how long will that take? i've seen people say up to 14 days.
then, if we've already sent the info to friends, can we reinstate the same goal, so they use the same info? thanks very much, your service is awesome. -
Inappropriate?@C,
You will have to close the entire goal. We do not allow partial withdrawals at this time.
You may close your goal at anytime (without penalty of course) if you do not have any pending transactions. If you elect to receive your funds via ACH (back to your bank) you will receive your funds within 5-7 banking business days.
A new goal will have to be created once the goal has been closed.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?when we create the new goal, we can just put it under the same account,
same email address so as not to confuse people, correct?
thank you. -
Inappropriate?@C,
Absolutely. Add as many goals as you wish to the account!
