why does it take so long for you to transfer in my initial deposit?
It's been more than 24 hours since I set up my first two savings goals and you haven't yet made the transfer from my funding account? Why is that? How long does this normally take? Let's get started!

Great question. ACH (bank transfers) take 3 banking business days to clear into your SmartyPig account. Your transaction will say "PENDING" until the funds have cleared into your SmartyPig account.

But I just my made an ACH transfer between accounts I have at two other banks and it was effective immediately. What's the difference? -

Transfer times from one bank to another varies and is typically 2-3 business days. What I can tell you is that this is something we are working very hard to improve. As I mentioned on a previous post, I wish it were immediate! Withdraw today, in SmartyPig tomorrow. And as our company grows, we fully expect things like this to change for the better.

Effective today, bank ACH transfer times have now been reduced from 3 to 2 business days. Please read more here:
