apple remote has the ability to recognize buttons being held down, as well as double clicks. maybe a press and hold of the play/ pause to record, press again to stop, press again to play. if they don't build it in, I'm sure that iRedLight could handle the duty -
Inappropriate?See, it would be nice to setup my macbook and hit record from across the room. Maybe add a blinking "recording now" in big bold type?

Inappropriate?iRedLight can already do it. I hate having to use other apps to make the first one behave how I want, but iRedLight can control any program just about, and it's built to do it. This would leave the wonderful developer of this software more time to (please) tackle getting some BWF, WAV support going! audio engineers everywhere await this boon!
