Marker Overlap on Graphs

When locating markers on graphs is there a way to "lock" the marker to one or another graph. i.e. when comparing two response curves (on axis/off axis) can you avoid the overlap issue I am experiencing with the marker leaders I've tried placing markers on one and then the other without success.
