Use impedance plugin to measure system instead of driver?
Chris,
Is there a way to use the impedance plugin to measure a speaker (enclosure with drivers) and get the system impedance response without the TS overlay and driver parameters? Or do you have a different approach to that?
Another question, have you had a chance to look at my question about the Qts and Qes data that I posted in November/December?
Thanks for your help.
Vern

Inappropriate? This is not yet possible, Vern. It's a big-time omission on my part, and I'm hoping to rectify it rather soon.

Would there be any limitation to measuring higher impedance circuits like those which you might encounter on a 70V commercial system? -
I'm not entirely sure what the difference would be. How much higher is the impedance in these systems? -
Depending on the number of loudspeakers and the tap settings of the transformers, it could range from values similar to that of single driver and upward to a few thousand ohms. -
Inappropriate?Hmm. Well, until I remove the artificial limitation which prevents impedance measurements to show up without a model fitting operation, this'll be impossible to test out anyway.
However, when I get that fix in, I expect you to try it out and see how it goes. It couldn't cause any harm that I can see if you're attaching to just the terminals of the system without an amp.
If it's not behaving as you'd like, please start a new topic here—these comments in reply to responses aren't a good place to hijack a thread. ;)
