is there a way to time gate out the room and measure only the resonant charactoristics of speaker drivers using waterfall.

Inappropriate?Certainly!
Just gate the measurement in the main window by dragging the analysis window region (the grayed out area) to remove the room reflection. Then, analyze as you wish in the waterfall plugin.
