Why am I getting HTML error code?
Tried to remove and re-copy and paste
different types of htlm code from 7 new choices of skins.
But it still didn't work.
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate? This was a problem for a really short time, but everything is up and running again. We suggest you re-install your voice player. Do this by logging onto your Snapvine account, click "WIDGETS", select a voice player skin, then copy and paste the new code back into your profile. Everything should be back to normal!

Inappropriate? This is happening to me, too. I'm using I.E., I have cookies enabled, etc. And it's still telling me that there's a problem with my "html." I've tried several different "widgets" and they all say the same thing. I just rebooted my comp, but no luck. Any help?

Rissa,You are the only one whose answered.I have tried everything.it just keeps saying Upload error please check your HTML code..I would if I knew which code!! -
Inappropriate?Sometimes, I have found that the embed code for the widgets, occasionally do not work on some sites such as eBlogger, where I try to manually paste the code.
Suggest copying the code from the voice recorder and sending it to Snapvine, by pasting here in a comment field or submit in a detailed description of browser, type of computer and what ocurrs when you experience the problem to the red "Beta Feedback" button on your Snapvine page. Maybe that will help them in seeing where the embed code fails. Sometimes it is merely missing a close to the code, i.e, a bracket in the embed code. If you do not know html code maybe they can find the error and help you.
The embed code is in the text box on the page where you view the voice player using 'Widgets' from the main menu of Snapvine profile.
Also, some sites do not allow html. Make sure that the site where you are trying to paste the embed code, accepts html code. Also make sure that the preferences or options for that site are not set to accept html code.
Hope this helps.

Inappropriate?Granny, I appreciate you trying to help.
Let me just explain that when choosing a widget, on the second page after selecting whichever one, it says "post it" and lists a bunch of different site options. It also has a preview of what your widget will look like. The preview itself says "Your Voice Player Could Not Load. Please Make Sure Your HTML Codes Are Correct" -- so this is a problem BEFORE I copy and paste the code.
Is there some sort of shock/adobe/java that I need and don't have, and perhaps that's the reason? I'm not sure. -
Inappropriate?im having this same prob @ the moment! it worked for a few minutes and now its telling me the same problem!! helppp!
-
Inappropriate?i have the same prob and dont know what to do all say get a new skin and take the new code but that doesnt work
i also made a new account on snapvine when i recorded an intro on the new account it was also the same prob. your voice player could not load....
i really dont know what to do... -
Inappropriate?Snapvine uses Adobe Flash player. You could try reinstalling the flash player, as a new version may be out or the one you have may be corrupt. Also reboot your computer after installing so that the new player can take effect. Hope this helps.
Also make sure you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer Browser on a PC. or Firefox on a Macintosh. The code will not show up on a Mac using Safari. -
Inappropriate?I'm using I.E. and I reinstalled Adobe and it still doesn't work. I don't think it's a problem with Adobe or the site that I'm trying to paste it to because I can see other peoples' snapvines and they show up just fine.
I also tried creating a new account, and it worked for about 5 minutes and then gave me the same error message.
So, I'm still stuck. lol. =( -
Inappropriate?Try looking at the info on this site: which explains what settings are necessary to use the Adobe Flash Player. Storage settings and such may need to be set.

Inappropriate?I found the one and only SURE-FIRE solution!
Delete the code all together and and tell Snapv!ne to toss-off! Their product is useless and they have offered up no real help. The last time an "employee" posted to this thread was 3 months ago.
Their service is crap.
I’m dissatisfied

Inappropriate? If it were a problem with ADOBE then why would I be able to use/see other peoples' snapvines just fine? If my settings were the problem, I assume I'd have a problem viewing EVERYONES' snapvines.
I'll check my settings more thoroughly later. -
Inappropriate? In order to properly troubleshoot, I have another question for you ... are you on dial-up connection? Thanks.
-
Inappropriate?i have the same problem as rissa and i guess everyone else on here. it seems that it started happening "after" i recorded an intro, but before that it was working just fine. i am going to try to make a new account and record an intro "before" ever picking a skin and maybe that is the key since when i recorded it after picking a skin, and copy and pasting the code to myspace, it didn't work. I'll repost if it works
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?well son of a monkeys uncle, it worked! it seems that recording a outgoing message "after" you have already picked a skin and posted the code screws up the html somehow. =P goes to show you that they haven't worked all the kinks out yet, so if anyone else is having this problem as explained by rissa above with the snapshot of the desktop (which was very helpful btw) then this is the cause of and solution to the problem. just create a new account and record your intro "FIRST" before anything else.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?one last thing, and this is to Granny Joan. i don't like to criticize people much but i thought i'd stick my head out there and say "huh?" i mean what the heck would dial-up internet have to do with improper html code. it's a software issue on the basic level and would have nothing to do with bandwidth, especially knowing the information that other people's voice comment boxes were showing up just fine for the people with the problem in question. I know you were only trying to help but if you can't think of a plausible cause then don't just say anything because you've run out of good troubleshooting questions. On the otherhand, reading some of your other responses does lead me to believe that you do know a bit about troubleshooting internet and software problems. But what do they teach you in school? Usually the simplest answer is right one. Hope this gives you some foresight with troubleshooting in the future... of course in a perfect world you wouldn't have to troubleshoot over a message board waiting hours for a response so i know it does get difficult. :P
I’m happy

Inappropriate?you know what? the same freaking thing just happened again! it was working for a few minutes and then it just gave me the html error code again. I have another possible cause though. I think it has to do with deleting the default messages you get from the creators. it was working fine until i deleted the voice comments from them. it's a possible cause, i will post back soon when i find out if it is the actual cause...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Punk, Rissa above left a screen shot that stated that her preview player was unable to load. I know that this can occur with those who are on dialup connection! She indicated that 'this was a problem' before ever copying and pasting the code. I was concerned with the fact that her preview player was not loading. Sometimes people, relay to the Snapvine staff such limited information, that it is hard for them to solve the problem at hand. I have seen people on this message board state " How do I put this on my bebo page/acount " ... Do you believe this makes sense to those trying to help. It is important to give all the information possible about browser, machine type, and situation and as many steps to create the problem at hand. I am not a staff member and I do have programming experience. I would hope that all would pitch in to help others that might be having a problem. This is the weekend and most of the Snapvine staff I hope are home enjoying their weekend and lives.
Cheers and hope that your solution will help others and also the staff. -
Inappropriate?thank you granny for explaining that, i had no idea that the preview player showing up could have been caused by such a small thing as a dial-up connection, though i do think that anyone that still has dial-up in this day and age is pretty foolish. I don't want you to think that i was trying to be hurtful in anyway in saying what i did, i just didn't see the usefulness of the specific troubleshooting question you were asking at the time. anyway, getting back to the problem at hand, i created yet another account on snapvine and put in a intro and a picture and copied the code to my myspace. so far its been about 20 minutes and it hasn't had the problem "yet". hopefully it stays that way. it seems that you need at least one voice comment on your voice player to actually make the thing work so deleting the voice comments from the creators seems to be what is causing the problem. i know it's annoying, but its like having Tom on your friend list on myspace, you may not want him there, but he seems to come in handy every now and again...lol. anyway, i hope this solution works for some people and i hope it works for me! i'll try deleting the voice messages from the creators once i start getting some voice messages of my own and if i have anymore problems i'll be sure to post them.
I’m silly
-
Inappropriate?Punk, I have no comments from the creators and my voice player posts just fine. which site are you trying to post your player? Are you using the auto post for one of the listed sites or are you copying and pasting the code yourself?
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? When I try to copy and paste the code to a site like eBlogger, I get a message that ' Your HTML cannot be accepted: Tag is not closed: ... ' . I added a closing to the end of the code and it worked just fine. As I stated above if you want to submit your embed code that shows up in the textbox to the staff, this might help them in figuring out what is wrong with the code.
