Enable easy identifying of unread posts
I was on the road for a week. After coming back, I had trouble identifying, which post and comments I had already read. Hence, I suggest labeling both unread posts and comments. One way to reduce clutter could be to collapse already read comments (e.g. only showing name and posting date and "show" link; somewhat like how Digg collapses comments by importance rating) and posts (e.g. only showing first 3 lines).

Inappropriate?Hi Arik,
Thanks for the feedback. Highlighting unread posts is something that several customers have asked about, and it's a very logical request. I will put this idea into the mix for the next feature development discussion and we will absolutely discuss.
Thanks!
Carrie

Inappropriate? It'd also be great to show an unread count on each of the filters and groups to the right.

Inappropriate?Though some improvements have been made, it's still difficult to identify unread comments/posts especially when there has been a lot of activity.
I like that there's a hierarchy between a post and comments, it would be nice if there was an option to view comments/post in a single twitter like column so you could actually the new content and access the context IF you want to. So in this view comments and posts would be stacked together and if you showed a comment then many you show the avatar icons like you do now but the first one corresponds to the post and the mouse over shows the original post. So you could basically view like it is today, threaded or a new view which is flat.
Then also part of that would be a clearer indication of what comments are new. Currently it hightlights the entire post if a comment was added. I want to see what comments are new.
And finally the unread message count should be indicated somehow on the minimized window of the desktop client. I'm on a mac so this would be the typical way that the iphone or some mac apps do it. Or at a minimum don't just bounce the icon once when a new message arrives, change it's color or something in case I miss the one bounce.
Sorry a bunch of things lumped onto someone elses suggestion... but all related to distinguishing what content is new.
