Age verification on registration - HELP !
Is there any some sort of registration that people have to click on I am over 18 - as I dont want any under 18s in the site.
Please rescue my sanity as Ive searched through the net for a free forum that has age registration - without having to resort to SQL programming which I do not have any knowledge of!
Many thanks

Inappropriate?PS i have not set up a site on SocialGO yet.... this is merely an enquriy
-
Inappropriate?sorry, i meant does it mean anyone under 18 can enter the site at their own risk or would they be blocked?
-
Inappropriate?Adult sites first of all have that warning page, saying the network is for over 18's only. After that page, when a user signs up, the network will not allow sign-ups from people under 18.
-
Inappropriate?I have been asking support about this. Suppose i want to set up a network that is NOT an adult content network but i only want over 18s to sign up for it. Having that splash landing page that my visitors would land on would be inappropriate as that would give them the impression that the site is a porn site when it won't be. The tos states that you must be 13+ to sign up for the network but i won't be wanting under 18s to use the site & we can't edit the tos to show that you must be 18+. I've been told this has been reported as a bug.
-
Inappropriate?Hey Breeze as i said on socialgo support we are on the issue, ive reported it and we should get the terms and conditions changed for 18+ asap
There isn't current a way to customize the splash page but i will pass the suggestion onto the team
Kind regards
Will

Inappropriate? Thanks will, but won't uni-laterally changing the tos to be 18+ cause another problem? What if network owners want members to join that are 13+? Each network meets different needs this is why it would be very useful if we could edit the tos ourselves (or at the very least, the age part).
-
Inappropriate?I would like members to join when there 13, It would be a good ideal to have members 13-15 were the the profiles are privet so others need there email address to add them. Everybody 16 and older should get to pick if there profile is privet or not. If you don't allow members to be under 18 I will go BACK TO NING!!! I really like Social Go but I want people under 18 2 be able to use the site also!

Inappropriate?Hey guys,
To both of you - these are great suggestions.. I've put them on the list, and we will keep you updated as time goes forward.
Mark - to use SocialGO or partake on a SocialGO site, one doesn't need to be 18 - one must be at least 13 years old. I believe this is a general law among social networking sites. -
That is true if you are using SG for a social networking platform, i will be doing this so the 13+ in tos isn't a problem but i have a future plan to use SG for a dating site & i would need to have 18+ in the tos for that particular network. -
Inappropriate?Ok, I was thinking that but I wasn't sure I just wanted to make sure, Social Go is so good! The way you guys take care of everything is very good! Thinks guys
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?@Mark, i'm not sure & more confused now. Ryan & Will appear to have said contradictory things about the age. Ryan, which of my suggestion have you put on the list? That network owners can edit the age part in the tos? If this is on the to do list, then i'm happy.
-
Inappropriate?Breeze you made mention about how it would be helpful if you could edit the 'tos - at least the age part' yourself. I made mention that I think that would be a good idea, so I put it on the list - though this doesn't guarantee it will come to fruition, it does guarantee sound consideration from the powers that be. As for me mentioning the age of 13 - I got the impression Mark was thinking one would have to be 18 to use a SocialGO site regardless of the content - I was letting him know that it will remain 13 as a general rule, though this does not mean owners of SocialGO sites shouldn't be allowed to set the age parameter to higher if they choose.
-
Inappropriate? The best thing you could do regarding this (wanting your SocialGO network to remain for those 18, or whatever age, +) is to create your own TOS at sign-up (which would work in addition to the one SocialGO has set) by using custom questions with one stating that you do not want those under 18 to join - that one must be 18 or older, and how only those who check the option that they are over 18 will have access, etc.
