Give Free And Starter Plan Limited Access To Layout Manager
It would be great if SocialGO can grant free and starter network just limited access to the layout manager to get a more professional-looking site. you could just limit the amount of edits to the page a month or week, say 2 to 4 a week, just so that everyone can have the layout manager, and they might want to do more, and want to get the full thing. Just my idea. What you think?

Inappropriate?Hey Rob,
This isn't in the pipeline at the moment, but I'll be sure to pass on the suggestion...

Inappropriate?Hey Shawn,
We do consider all requests!

Inappropriate?Excellent idea.. I am banging my head here because how can I decide if I want to go the whole hog if I can't get to try it out at least a little.
I am in danger of giving up and going elsewhere..

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? Here's my opinion on the Layout Manager's availability... All network owners should be given the ability to move their stuff around with this new tool (as much as the current layout methods allow for), but custom widgets should be restricted according to their plan.
So if someone gets the Starter plan, yeah, why not let them move the basic widgets around? And for premium owners, you get to move stuff around and create custom widgets.
I’m just sayin...
-
Edit: Scratch that, you can't move things around in the basic networks like when it was in beta... Never mind me. -
Inappropriate?I am fed up with it already so I doubt I will go further. Shame because it had potential.

Rosie, i agree with you... you should be able to try it out for free.
that said, have you used ning before? its like that but 100 times more powerful.
you can move ANY thing ANY where.
its full of bugs though and SG should document them so we can avoid hours of trying to figure out why something is not working
some quick ones.
1- if you disable the "members" tab videos and photos will no longer be viewable by members.
2- if you disable the "profile" many features such as "invite" will no longer work.
etc etc
i recommend that you give SG a go, they are the best, MOST open and easiest option out there, IMO.
you also have the evil genius on your side, he makes socialgo a better place. -
Inappropriate? If you've used the SocialGO homepage widgets, nings widgets or even wordpress widgets it works the same way you drag a widget into a page zone and it shows up on the site. What you put in the widget is entirely up to you so there are endless combinations of content. Create as many tabs and sub tabs as you want.
-
But it's the fact that Free and Starter networks don't have access to this so they can't move things around.Edit: Scratch that, you can't move things around in the basic networks like when it was in beta... Never mind me. -
Inappropriate?peopl's isn;t the layout manager free for the first month.. i think u won;t be billed or anything....
and one month is enough to learn and test it i think -
Inappropriate? The current premium plan lets you have full access (at no charge) for 30 days, so Sojan is correct... anyone who is interested can use the full suite of tools for a month (at no charge) to get a feeling about the system and what they can do with it to meet their needs.
There is no practical way to limit "use per week", so that isn't likely to happen.
We are observing and reporting to the team at SocialGO how the customers are reacting to the current program offering though, so if you have opinions on the topic, please continue to express them hear... they are being duly noted.
Cheers!
