Layout manager - difficult to edit and add text
I'm trying to edit my pages and the layout manager is not working well. I click "edit page" at the top of the page but the changes don't show up after I'm done. So I click the text box to configure custom HTML. Half the time I click "toggle HTML editor" (because I don't know HTML code) to edit, it doesn't work. When it does work and I edit the text the text does not save. If it does save it saves it in a distored way- changing font sizes and creating more spaces so the page looks like terrible. WTF? I'm paying $25 a month for this and I can't even easily make my pages look presentable? It took me 2 hours just to make some simple changes. Please tell me what the problem is and what you are going to do to fix it. FRUSTRATING!
I have lots of content to add to my pages on happyandsingletogether.com but if the layout is going to look so terrible (as it does now), what's the point? I shouldn't have to pay a programmer to make it look presentable!!!

Inappropriate?Hi zen123,
Sorry for the frustration - I'm going to check this out myself and contact a member of the tech team as soon as possible if required. I will update you via this thread once I have a resolution for this.
Thanks for your patience. -
Inappropriate?I think your net connection is very slow try it in at least 256kbps or 512kbps speed.

Inappropriate?I know for a fact that my connection is very fast and is not the problem.

Inappropriate?Hey Zen,
Are you aware on how to add content to your pages? in order to add content to your pages you need to drag and drop a custom HTML box into a zone on one of your pages. I think this introduction video to the layout manager would be beneficial to your issue.

Inappropriate?Will,
I am aware of how to add content to my pages. I watched the video before I started using the layout manager. I was having the same problems with editing before you introduced the new layout manager, and it seems worse on evenings and weekends (UK time), which makes me think you have more free and paying users than your system can easily handle.
Could it also be an HTML problem? I oringally created my content in the HTML editor MS Frontpage and then pasted it into SocialGo.
As a test, I just edited my welcome page in the "configure custom HTML" red box, saved it (it wasn't slow this time), then viewed the page in my browser. The spacing is all messed up, little square boxes show up, and some font is messed up. None of this shows up in the editor. Any idea why this is happening?
Thanks -
Inappropriate?Hey Zen,
The issue here is with MS! MS generates code when copied and pasted. My suggestion is that you either copy and paste your content into notepad (because notepad doesnt generate this code) OR you can download a free HTML editor such as http://www.net2.com/nvu/
If you need any personal assistence you can write to us at support@socialgo.com where we can have a closer 1on1 look to your issue if it still persists.
Cheers
