Limit message to all members is to low!
Hi Guys,
I just saw the message in the admin panel about the new limit to send message to all members..
I think the limit of 3 message to all in 1 week is to low.. I do send 3 or 4 messages each week announcing the new content, for that it just enough..
But for example with the last problem that the message to all didn't arrived (when you guys added the new spam system) and because of the 2 days delay in delivering the message to all, the info i did send in that first message to all wasn't up to date anymore, so i needed to update that.
So i needed 4 messages to all..
I understand that due the abuse you must limit the message to all, but is a limit of 1 a day not a bit more realistic..?
Sometimes there is really a need to send a message to all, and personally i think its unacceptable when i have to wait 1 week to get a message send ( if i already send my new content notifications)

And on Ning this abuse of messages to all is still going on, why are their emails not marked as spam by the big email-company's..? i cant see the different... You need to limit the networks that are abusing your message to all system, but not all networks!
I'm sorry to say but for me this is downgrading the Zocku platform in a big way!!

We totally understand how important Message all Members is and this is just a temporary measure while we put in place some more controls to stop the abusers. Hopefully it will be back to normal very soon.

Don't worry, its just short term measure so we can get better systems in place to control the abuse. It will be back to normal soon.
By the way, are you joing the sneak preview of layout manager later today?

i would love to join the preview, but my mood is below zero..
and i dont know what time its starting ( Uk time i understand but the other timezones not) and i registered for the workshops but didnt here anything..
i'm gonna take a shower now, hoping my mood will flush down the drain with the water.. lol if the preview is starting 30 min (or longer) after now i will join if you send me the details how to join..

Inappropriate?Its NOT 3 messages for 7 days, i waited 7 days i didn't get a new message added ( i only used 1) it seems that we have to wait 13 or more days to get new messages to all..
Again this is UNACCEPTABLE!!! And its beginning to cost me money!!

There are so many features missing from SG/Zocku. To keep paying for a non user friendly network is now just insane.

I have only a Big problem with this message to all problem (specially while they where warned for this months ago..), i understand why it is but i dont think they must handle it this way... -
Inappropriate?In the grand scheme of all the problems that the networks ARE having (chat features not working everywhere, new layout manager, etc..) this may simply be a matter of prioritization.
Take for example that they took a week because they got obliterated on bandwidth. They upgraded and migrated servers appropriately, and frankly- that's not easy. So, while your need for more than 3 emails per week is certainly valid, it may just simply have been put back in favor of some other features that took priority.
Or, it could be that tribbles invaded the system and decided to replicate. I have no idea.
At any rate, I don't think it is "unacceptable-" it's an inconvenience that will be fixed, we hope. It would be nice for them to update us on their progress, but again, tribbles may be eating their wires. Who knows?

Inappropriate?Your reply is confusing me. You said you know the reason why the messages are limited (to eliminate possible filtering of messages from a .socialgo.com site being marked as spam). I thought your question was why it was taking so long? If that's the case, then my point stands :D

Inappropriate?Most social networking sites send a message to email once a month. They do internal messages when users log in. The email message should be a large over view of whats happening on the site. Save it for the big news.
If you have the layout manager then you can also use a text widget to put up a notice in zone C. -
Inappropriate?Yeah i know, but not all networks are the same of course i have a adult site thats focusing on the content, not on the social network thing, and i always (also on my "old" sites) announce the new content, my members are used to that and they appreciate that.. All my content is brand new and exclusive only online at my site... ( some for a limited period)
And i have paying members so i serve them in the best way i can..
I understand why they limited the messages to all and i think this problem needs to be very high on the priority list.. Its unacceptable for a premium site not to be able to send a message to all members when i want.
This is on most other big social network a basic free option, and they dont have this problem with the webmail company's...
I warned SG months ago for the abuse, when they lifted the limit for sending messages to all to unlimited .. and advised them to limit the message to all to 1 a day ( for premium sites)
But ok now that they fixed the problem with counting the 3 its ok for me, (if its not gonna take months to get back to normal..)

We will be continuing to review this aspect of the system, so don't worry it won't be the same for say, the next 12 months, we'll be looking it and considering different options etc over time.
