Manage Members acting funny
There is an issue with the member manager. For instance I have this one member who paid for his membership for the month and canceled the very same day. It automatically places his account into "payment pending".
So I log on and change his status to "member". Then every day it changes back to "payment pending" by itself.
Why is it that the member ship billing can not do this on it's own? It should know that the members account should be active until the day his account is to expire instead of it placing the members account into payment pending when they already paid for the month.

Inappropriate? Now it's also not functioning right with new paying members.
I got a new subscriber just about an hour ago, checked paypal and the payment was not with an echeck so his membership should of automatically went into "member" status.
Instead I had to manually turn his account from "pending payment" to "member".
I hope it does not in few hours just automatically switch his account to "pending payment". I'm sure he'll end up complaining again and canceling his membership. -
Inappropriate? Here is the reply that was given:
"Just spoke to a techy and he said this is the way the system is built.
If you have any further queries feel free to contact me.
Regards
Max"
Well my suggestion would be to go rebuild it, or stop trying to push $20 bucks for it.
If I'm having to manually do things, I might aswell just make a subscribe button from paypal, put in on the welcome page. Then I'll have to monitor the list of paying members I would have to keep up with. -
Inappropriate?Hi Francois,
Let me just explain a little further - the system isn't built to have a 'time' feature in it, whereby it records the date a member paid, the date they cancelled, the date the account should terminate dependent on the length of time that was paid for...
If a user has no intention of staying as a member of a network for longer than one payment period, they effectively need to remember to cancel their account the day before they are rebilled.
Based on your feedback (as always, we really do value it!), we will investigate other options regarding members canceling midway through their subscription, to see if there is a good alternative.
Regards,

Inappropriate?Tom,
Is there away that the system can mention to the new member when signing up, if they want to cancel that it would be best to cancel the day before.
This way I won't have to message every new member and tell them this and avoid having them get angry that there membership goes back into payment pending when I change it to member.
Maybe like a little warning message when they sign up. -
Inappropriate?I see what you mean Francois, I'll see if I can come up with a decent solution like this...
