MUSIC on socialgo /zocku and copyrights status
Message to be forwarded to the SG/Zocku Management team
MUSIC
As a network owner (gay adult network 6800 members) I don't want to infringe any copyright law.
This question should be clearly answered on a legal point of view in order to avoid legal consequences for the owner.
Please give an official answer on the subject and I will accept or remove all the music posted by members on my network
If not allowed , then we must have a control on the music postings and foirbid them , Before the loading.
thanks for bringing a clear answer soon,

I have this question, too!
Tell me when someone answers.

Inappropriate?thanks Ryan for this 20 pages of law regulations, but this is not the kind of answer I was expecting.
I'm not a lawyer and I have no time for that. Just wanted to know officially from SG and Zocky : are we allowed as networks owers to accept music uploaded to our sites by the members?
it's a serious question to be answered clearly and precisely dedicated to the SG/Zocku users.
When i will kow the answer i will be able to apply a clear and strict policy i my network.
thanks

Inappropriate?lucky,
Put in your tos that users are not allowed to upload content that they do not have rights to and put a question for them to agree to the tos in the profile questions. If they upload content after agreeing to tos you are released from liability. All anyone can do is contact you to remove the media from the site. This applies to all media.
If someone bought a CD and still has that CD then they can by law make "backup" copies to be played. If there is no file transfer to another user then it should be ok to do so.
iTunes even lets you burn copies onto CDs.
I don't think SocialGO can answer you without putting themselves in legal troubles. They can't say yes or no. It's up to each site owner to decide if the content is legal or not. -
Inappropriate? As long as you are not providing a P2P service or making money via music I think you should be ok. Just release yourself from liability through a TOS.
The Labels have quit suing people for copyright infringement as they have learned it costs more than what they loose in theft. One day Labels will learn that they will have to give away the music and make money on hard goods and concert sales.

Inappropriate?Hey luckybiker,
You can indeed have music on your site, you just can't share it...(ie.download it), unless you own the material...

Inappropriate?thanks for this answer Oscar. Ryan gave me good information. But I needed that kind of answer. I don't want my group to infringe any rule .
