Inappropriate?Hey LukeDL,
Thanks for the feedback. This has been suggested before, not too long ago, and it's been placed on our feedback report for consideration.
-
Why do you need to consider it?? Clearly people are asking for it? -
Inappropriate?Hey Luke,
It's a nice idea, i think a lot of people though wouldn't want this, everyone i knew on m*space deleted Tom. I will pass your feedback onto the team though :)
Will -
Tom does not socialize with his members like i do with my members.
Well what about if we had the option to turn on and off this function? -
Not me William! Tom is still in my Top Ten! ;p I have to agree with LukeDL, I know almost half the people on my network, but I've never been to tea with Tom. -
Inappropriate?Yes! Absolutely! It makes no sense that I have to friend more than 300 members so that I can announce new blogs and events. It's been pointed out by SG staff that our members might view it as spam, in which case we might lose members. I agree. However, that should be our decision, the success or failure of our networks is already our responsibility. If we choose to abuse our privilege, then we must suffer the consequences.
I’m happy

I totally agree thunder =) -
Inappropriate?I love this idea, simply because my social community is based on my PS3 Gaming clan. We have over 300 members in all & if anyone is farmiliar with PSN (Playstation Network) & it's messaging system, You know it's a pain trying to send 1 message to 100 members. It takes roughly 10 minutes and about 500 button presses. This feature would make it so much easier to send global messages to the clan. Not to mention the ability to save every new member the trouble of adding me to their friends list when what they really need to be doing is farmilliarizing themselves with the community features and how things work.
-
@ James: You can send messages to your entire network from the admin area. My problem is beung able to send nvites to read a blog or attend an event. Granted, I could post a link into the email, but I would prefer to be able to send the invite directly from the event or blog post instead. -
Inappropriate?Adding friends is painful process in SG, as the site owner I would like a default "add me to anyone who joins" function - I also think this is a good idea for members. I never deleted "Tom" in myspace and I thought it was kinda neat that he added himself to me when I was a "noobie" (all that time ago).
Currently I have nearly 11,000 twitter followers and 3,000 facebook followers and I am actively engaging them to come to my SG network.
I agree with Thunder X - this should be OUR decision as to whether we auto add friends or not and the sooner SG get it in the easier my life will be in SG.
ADDITONALLY ... for members
It must be a real P.I.A to have to add friends individually, cant you add a feature whereby you can work through the list of members and tick the ones you want to befriend then say "add as friend" - at the moment its time consuming and REALLY stunts the growth of your friend network in SG.
So - how about it fellas!
I’m frustrated
-
Your last request is spot on, Ray. I don't know if this was short-sighted on SG's part or not. I know Twitter will suspend your account if you add people to quickly and/or too many at one time. The assumption being you may be a spamming program rather than a real person.. But I wholeheartedly embrace your suggestion nevertheless. It is extremely frustrating to have to add friends the way we do now. I have members who have started groups on my network, but now find themselves having to add other members as friend in order to invite them to their groups. Even if one were to go to the members area and run down the list to click to add friends, the page reload is time-consuming and always sends me back to the previous page. -
Inappropriate?Yep - it really is a P.I.A!
They need sort it and sort it fast as its a dealbreaker for me!
I’m Still frustrated after all these years
-
Inappropriate?update?
-
Inappropriate?Yeah still waiting for an update - not a lot seems to be happening with SG at the moment. It's crying out for new features ... NING isn't looking so bad now ... Were we sold a Lemon?

I’m confident

Inappropriate?Yes, Whahoo... thanks Will thats great to hear =)

Inappropriate?I think it's an option definitely needed... gets my vote

Inappropriate?lets make this happen already, hasn't this discussion been going on a year now. surely it can be switched on and off simply from the admin area. just put it as an option in the members area and I could then set all the staff I want to be helpers as a default friends for everyone. Makes loads of sense so new members know who to contact for support and have a presetup commununity. And like others have said it is our mistake to make if it doesn't work, thats the privilege we are paying for. It would be simple to setup ten or zero friends if the option was there.
I’m confident
