SocialGo Next update plan?
What will be the company next update plan. Socialgo must tell every owner about the next update plans like-
1. Moderation rules
2. Members ranking system
3. Changing default invites contacts mail(Edit).
4. Customize themes for members
and so and so. or what ever..
I think company must inform all the owners regarding the upcoming updates.so we must aware of the facts whats going to be next. Its ok if company do not mention the dates but they must inform us on which factor or updates they are working.
hope to hear a positive response from SocialGo

Inappropriate?Hi Maniac Scorpio,
I agree with you that there should be some kind of long-term plan for us to see.
On the other hand, do not forget that the competition is also looking at what SG is doing, so I understand that do not always want to say what is happening.
I have some of the same questions as you above and from the different forums there are (blog, owner's forum, widgetlab, getsatisfaction) I could conclude the following.
1. Moderation rules: is being discussed now, especially the blocking of 'friends' that you do not want
2. Members ranking system: if it comes, it will come through the widget laboratory, according to me
3. Changing default invites contacts mail(Edit): this is part of the whole translation project of SG. Once we are able to translate all texts into another laguage you will automatically be able to change these emails too. It will take some time before this comes but it is planned.
4. Customize themes for members: this will come very soon as a widget form the Widget Lab.
Hope this helps.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I would like to know the roadmap to fix / improve the currently announced offerings.
1. Magazine dates disappear after 5 months
2. Magazine ability to have a "read more" after several lines of the article like most blogs (wordpress) have.
3. Groups being sorted by number of members when "Top Groups" is selected
4. Option to have dates be in the US standard: month/day/year
5. Birthdates show up a day late: People with birthdays today show up in the activity feed as tomorrow.
6. Ability to move pre-defined widgets from one page to another in the layout manager (e.g. move an upcoming events widget to the magazine page)
These are hopefully small fixes that don't give competitive insights to competitors. But big annoyances to the current communities.
I’m waiting for small fixes to get fixed
-
Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
can't really help you with the dates but number 2 can be fixed (see the blog of Evil Genius) http://www.widgetlaboratory.com/magaz...
Number 6 is a more difficult one as they have to reprogram all the widgets to allow this. They are currently busy doing this but it will take some time so be patient, I am sure it is coming.
The other points seem more like a bug so I would recommend sending them to support@socialgo.com
-
Inappropriate? Thanks Frank, but the #2 fix from WL is cumbersome and not practicable. All of our community members or moderators shouldn't have to be HTML programmers to post a blog and have the "read more" appear.
I VERY MUCH appreciate WL's help for a work-around, but it is not a fix -- it's a work-around. I entails HTML coding and repetition of a paragraph of content, hyperlinking, etc.
The other points (bugs) have been raised so many times, here and on support tickets, but don't seem to be a priority. I'm beginning to wonder if staffing is being let go? is seed funding running dry? will this company be a going concern? should we be building a business around this platform if there is not a high level of confidence that it will be there in the future?
The responses of "we'll put it on the list and get to it as soon as we can -- Cheers" are beginning to wear thin for premium paying clients.
When you're a free user you get what you get. Premium paying members expect more.
Let's get some focus back on fixing the current offerings and features before adding new bells and whistles.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I must agree with your last statement.
Fix the current offerings.
I know that Layout Manager, widget and template shops were big items as it brings them money.
About the staffing, I cannot help you unfortunately.
Anyone of SG care to answer that? -
Inappropriate?Hey Eric,
Thanks for taking the time to list those issues. Most of them will be resolved in the next 2 deploys.
With regards to what is coming next from SG, you are correct to say that we are a little tight-lipped with what's being worked on on the blog and forums but we would be happy to discuss with you the plans moving forward over IM or email. I am on the Owners networks most of today if you care to drop by .
Cheers

Inappropriate?Hi Alex -- I looked for you several times and also sent a friend request on the owners network -- so far no response.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Eric - I'm on now.....?

Inappropriate?I guess the big part of the entire question is, how stable is social go financially and as business owners and eggs in the basket, what reassurances can you provide us that your not here today and gone tomorrow
