I made a test mod account and I do not see the ability to edit, delete ... or any kind of options for moderators to help maintain the site?

Inappropriate?Hi Suz, Mods are able to do all the things the network owner can.. except .. delete the network owner. This has been standard from the start.
Obviously (like the owner) you don't want all of the options available in the main list (as there are quite a few of them and it makes the lists large and unwieldy) thus you need to to to a members profile to edit them (and yes even if they are private mods and the owner can get in)

Inappropriate?it would be better if we could appoint task for the moderators. on my old site i had moderators that actually F**ked me and the network over by editing my sites layout and even once removed the photo tab that cost me to have to close and than relaunch because i was never able to retrieve it afterwords.these things could not have been possible if i would have been able to appoint certain duties as oppose to almost as much control over the site as myself. they should be able to ban,put people on probation, remove some media & spamming messages on the latest activity section. but no access to the features and layout of the site. they should not be able to alter the site or close it. is there any way we can prevent these things?

On socialgo, layout and most design features are controlled via the admin system (my.socialgo.com). Only 1 account has access to this system that is the owner :)
Moderators are empowered to moderate content on the site only; members, blogs and shortly photos video music et al but mods can not affect the layout/colouring etc
This distinction has already been made with you the network owner in mind and I'm glad that it seems to already fit your needs.
