Who-Im placement and title
Is there a way to move the Who-Im widget further down the sidebar? I think users find it confusing butted right under profile avatar. Also, is there a way to rename it? Users have no idea what Who-Im means. I'd rather name it Who's Online or simply Instant Message.

Who-Im's title can be hidden with CSS and (Good News!) it's coming to your site as a widget .... RIGHT NOW! ;-)
All kidding aside, you can now put the Who-IM javascript into a blank HTML text box widget and place it anywhere your heart desires.
We'll have a short and informative video on how to do this tomorrow.

I placed an HTML box into the left nav and put in the Who-im code. I could see some empty space that was created in the place specified, but the Who-im widget still appeared at the top. -

No worries, common question.
Who-IM shows who is actually on your site at that moment and actually browsing. The Who's Online shows your friends who may be on some site of SocialGO but not necessarily browsing on your site at that time, hence they cannot be reached via the Who_IM instantly.
We have a host of new ideas for communication tools, but not likely will there be a who-im with a persistant "roll" as you asked about above. This would work better for one of our chat products...

2) Even though I put the Who-Im code into a separate HTML box and move it somewhere else on the page, it still ends up underneath the profile pic. How do you move this? -

the present version of Who-IM is fixed in location and title...
When we release an updated version, there will likely be some additional user-settings that can tweak the same.
