Inappropriate?Yes, you can. To write your own news story and share it with the world click on the "news" portion of the "Add Something" box (located near the top right of each page).
From here you can author your own headlines and articles and even choose which networks to place them in (or socialmedian can do it for you).

Unfortunately right now you can't add images, unless you're linking something from your blog or an article that is hosted somewhere else. I'll see what I can do in terms of adding this as a feature, it makes perfect sense!
