Explanation of noise level, volume and topics.
It would be good if there was a somewhat detailed explanation of noise level, volume and topics for news networks. It may seem a bit confusing to new users.

Inappropriate?Hi Rob. Thanks for asking this question.
Here's a quick summary.
When a user creates a news network they set a "primary topic" and then choose some "related topics."
The person who created the news network can set the initial default volume for the network.
LOW volume means that only results which contain the primary topic will be shown.
MEDIUM volume, which is the default, looks for relevant combinations of the primary topic and the related topics, giving more weight to better matches of both and proximity of terms and other info we know about relationships between like terms/concepts.
HIGH volume will return results which contain any single of the related topics or primary topic. All it takes is one match on any term for the story to appear under high volume.
Since Twitter tweets can be very noisy, we also only include tweets in MEDIUM if more than one person has clipped the tweet. All relevant tweets are included in HIGH. Only popular tweets on the exact primary topic are included in LOW.
While the individual who created the particular News Network sets the initial volume level, each member of that News Network can also set their own volume level.
The company thinks
this is one of the best points

Jason, thanks for replying. I realized that I was confusing the "Change Volume" link as something separate from the Noise Level.
