1) Click the site tab within the "Add Something" box.

2) Click the "add sites" button, and then select the icon that represents the type of site feed you'd like to add (in this case, Google Reader).

3) Enter in your Google Reader URL and select whether you'd like all shared items to be added to socialmedian, or only those with specified key words.

When I do this it says that importing feeds into social media is coming soon -
Scott, For what ever reason the FB icon does not list, but it does show in FB when I do something, so I know the connection is there. I can add the others services just fine, but no FB icon under My Sites. -
Inappropriate?how do i determine my Google Reader URL?
I tried...
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/(id)
and plugged in my gmail user ID for (id), but it didn't work. -
Inappropriate?Mike, I'll report this as a bug and get back to you. Can you e-mail me (scott@socialmedian.com) your Gmail user ID?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Kathleen & Mike,
When entering your google reader url, your (id) is the long integer following the "shared/" portion of the URL. For example, our CEO Jason Goldberg's google reader URL would be:
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/1...
With "12151446878717984904" being his id, not his Gmail id.
Try this and let me know if you run into any issues. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?OK. Grabbed my numerical ID by:
1) Going to my Google Reader page
2) Clicking on "Your stuff"
3) Looking at the URL --> http://www.google.com/reader/view/#st.../user%2F12659212486961268040%2Fstate%2Fcom.google%2Fself
4) Grabbing the long string of numbers starting with the "1" after "2F"'
5) Mine is -->
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/1...
Perhaps not the easiest way, but it worked.
I’m thankful
