Is it possible to reactivate a deactivated account?
I signed up back in the early alpha says, deactivated, but now I would ideally like to reactivate my old account. Possible? If not, is there a way to fully delete an account so I can use my regular email address for a new account?

Inappropriate?I'll answer it myself - contact socialmedian support and they will reactivate the account for you. In minutes.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi James
Did you get this figured out? Please let me know if not and I'll help you out.
Glad you're reactivating your account! -
Inappropriate? My account was also deactivated. When I logged in, I got this:
Account Disabled!
This account has been disabled due to suspicious behavior.
Your account may be re-activated upon review by our team.
If you believe that your account was disabled in error, please email us at info@socialmedian.com.
I did as instructed, and sent the following email to support:
===============================================
Although the account is for a website (DriveMeInsane.com), it's not for spamming purposes. This is being done with the site owner's knowledge, but not his participation. I created the account, and I alone maintain it. His efforts are focused solely on coding and maintaining the DMI site itself.
If you look here:
http://hellotxt.com/user/drivemeinsane/
you'll see the kinds of things that are posted on all our streams - all suitable for public viewing. That Hellotxt account posts to many different services, and all are the same as what you see here. There is never any advertising, as we are a privately-owned site and not a "for-profit" group. We have a logo, and that's about it. The closest thing you'll see to advertising is an occasional invitation to join us for special days on the site, such as "Mad Hatter Monday" or "Purple Tuesday". Participation is free, and simply involves (in these cases) wearing funny hats or purple clothing on cam, on the site.
Site membership is free, and required *only* if a person wishes to have a public cam on our site (all G-rated, it's a family-friendly site). No money is ever asked for at any time, for any reason.
My goal in posting as I do is to give people an idea of what goes on in our chatroom and on on our site, and to show that our visitors and members are located all over the world. If they're curious, they can visit and check us out. If not, they can merely be entertained by the silly things that get posted.
If you find this explanation acceptable, please reactivate the account. If not , I understand :)
===============================================
No one has replied yet, and the account is still suspended.
If you check the Hellotxt link above, you'll see that the only activities ever engaged in on any of our accounts are
(1) Posting of one or two-line quotes from our IRC chatroom and anonymous site visitors.
(Since only I have access to the account, posting occurs according to my sleep schedule. When I get up, I go through and find interesting quotes and post them, sometimes several very close together. If you check the posting times, you'll see what I mean. This may be the source of the "suspicious behavior" noted by those who suspended the account.)
(2) Informative announcements about the site or the feed itself.
(3) Posting of images from the site members' webcams.
(4) Maintenance of the account's contact list (those who follow our feeds do so voluntarily, and are never asked to do so by any means).
My sole interest in creating these feeds is to let people know who we are, where we are, and what kinds of things happen on the site. What they choose to do about it is entirely up to them.
Honestly, it's not that big a deal to me if I have one less site to post a microfeed to - I already have many. What concerns me is, if I leave this suspension alone and just let it pass, DriveMeInsane.com will be in your records as a suspicious and potentially dangerous site, and that is *not at all* accurate.
I've been associated with the site and its owner for almost ten years now. He never has, and never will, solicit or spam anyone. He's not that kind of person, and neither am I.
Even if the account remains suspended, I want you (SocialMedian) to know that I and the site I represent are in no way deserving of a bad reputation.
Please respond, if only to let me know that someone at SocialMedian read and understood everything I said above. -
Inappropriate? You should be good to go now! Let me know if you're not and I will work on getting your access fixed!

Inappropriate?I didn't expect to get my access back, but thanks! I really appreciate it :) Everything works now.
I’m grateful

Inappropriate?I just checked my SocialMedian stream, and the account has been deactivated again.
???
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Let me look into this for you. Stay tuned
-
Inappropriate? It looks like the system has deactivated you again because all the stories that you submit have links within the descriptions, and so the system thinks of it as suspicious behavior.
If you want to submit a story, we suggest you have the link for the story title instead of adding links within the description. This may stop you from being deactivated again.
You see, our system searches for behavior which looks suspicious and deactivates automatically based on such behavior.
If you would be willing to change how you post your links then I could reactivate your account again and everything should be fine going forward. Just let me know!

Inappropriate?I don't post that many links, so that alone is not the problem.
I think it's because a lot of my messages get truncated, and Hellotxt automatically creates a link to the full text of the post. I didn't know this was causing a problem.
I'm willing to do whatever is necessary to make thing function as they should. I guess I should start limiting the size of my text posts, for one. I do like to post the occasional link, though. I'll experiment with some new approaches and get back to you.
Thanks for the info :)
I’m grateful

Inappropriate? After much thought on the matter, I've decided to cancel my SocialMedian account. Clearly, it was not meant for the kind of posting I do. I apologize for any difficulty this may have caused.
Unfortunately, there is no way to shorten *all* the posts so Hellotxt won't create links. At the beginning of each post from the chatroom you'll see "(Anonymous_User1234567:Office)" or something similar. Without this, the content itself has no context, and confuses people into thinking that "DriveMeInsane.com" is just a person posting random weird comments for no apparent reason.
Thanks for all your help, you've been very kind :)
I’m satisfied

Inappropriate?Im sorry we couldn't accommodate you further.
