Yes, a more elaborate FAQ would be nice. You promised one such FAQ 4 months ago:

Thanks for letting us know Brendan. We've gotten a few inquiries regarding this algorithm. We'll be implementing an FAQ to answer many of these questions. However, Social Rank is based on an equation that weights heavily on recency and frequency of posts. -

If you mouse over (hover) many of the elements you get a FAQ-like description. Once this was implemented we decided not to implement a full FAQ at that time.
