Hey guys, thanks for fixing the posting issue. See how easy that was? Haha, just kidding.
But, now, I'm running into the problem of the friendstream not showing current stuff. For instance, if I go to the Socialthing! website on the computer, it is up-to-date and showing the most current stuff; however, on the iPhone app it shows lagged posts from a few hours ago and actually is omitting some of the posts that can be seen on the website.
Also, when posting a status, the Socialthing! iPhone app does not refresh the friendstream, and I have to click the title bar and bring down the MobileSafari.app bar and hit refresh manually. Any way we can fix this?
I noticed that I have to individually post to pownce and facebook because the post are not posting. I also noticed that I sometimes have to re-authenticate facebook.
I've added my Last.fm account to my services but only updates from myself appear in the friendstream, when my Last.fm friends listen to their music I get no updates for them appearing in my friendstream.
I can post to Pownce from Socialthing! but the posts from Pownce do not appear in my friendstream (the ones that I wrote and the ones from my Pownce friends).
I've deleted and re-add Pownce but it does not work.
If it's been a while since I've refreshed, I'll often go down quite a ways and read up to catch up to current posts. When shift-space is used to page up, you can lose a tweet as the socialthing header is included in the size of the canvas that is scrolled.
Scrolling only the visible area of the feed minus the header area would be great.
Not sure if this is a problem caused by the current Twitter problems, but today whenever I've tried to post a status SocialThing! has given me a message that there was an error with Twitter. However when I look on the Twitter site, the message has posted fine.
I thought SocialThing! used to display direct Twitter messages. But recently none of the direct messages I've been receiving have been showing up. Was that functionality removed?
In v.1 your iPhone URL was the same start point. Therefore when I clicked on my iPhone Homepage badge it launched SocialThing in safari. If SocialThing was open (which it almost always is) it would simply refresh that Safari Page. Now it launches a "new window" and eventually I end up with 5 or 6 SocialThing instances.
Just a suggestion on most likely unintended side effect of loading a dynamic type url in the iPhone.
I like how socialthing aggregates everything into one place, and i like the idea of posting a facebook status from here, or a twitter status from here, but i'd like the option to be able to post multiple media types to pownce without going to their site.
I think a good way to get into this would be to bring up a box with 30px x 30px icons, or maybe smaller, when you click "post", you can then select the services you wish to post to (or just select an option that says 'all') and the posting box adjusts accordingly. Therefore if you JUST click pownce you get options to post a link, file or event, but if you click multiple, you just get a normal post box. This option of being able to select the services you want to post to BEFORE you reach the text input reduces the number of clicks needed to change the services you're posting to later on. Of course maybe it would be wise to be able to select the old method in the settings pane.
Socialthing doesn't seem to be picking up posts from my LiveJournal account. The only update at all I've seen from LJ is that ST shows my name being shown as an LJ post.
I made 2 posts to confirm that it isn't working, and clicked on the link to my LJ from ST to confirm that it was linked to the correct account.
I see the fave icon... I click on it... it fills, as though the update has been favorited... but I don't know where my favorites actually display. I checked the UI, of course, I did check Twitter, as I faved a tweet, but it doesn't display there either. I refreshed my browser, even restarted Firefox, cleared my cache for shits and giggles--no dice. Is a "Favorites View" feature just not implemented?
