Show Me the Updates! Last reply on July 01, 2008 14:07.

Can you add a feature allowing for auto-updating, so I don't have to click to show the updates? That'd be great.

Can you show what tools are used to post from Twitter? Last reply on July 04, 2008 15:50.

When I'm reading on Twitter, I can see how people have posted. For example, it might read "10 minutes ago from Socialthing!"

Reading in Socialthing, I'd just see the "10 minutes ago" part. When reading in Hahlo, I'll get the full string, so it seems to be something that can be read in.

It would be nice if Socialthing could show that information as well. Thanks for your consideration!

fixed width? Last reply on June 28, 2008 16:07.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could choose if you want to view the page with a 100% width or a fixed width of for example 800px?

Service "digest" option or more fine tuning preferences.

    So, socialthing.com is pretty slick.
However, with twitter and Facebook added, the stream is overloaded with less important information. My friend's less frequent flickr photos, del.icio.us bookmarks, Youtube videos, and Pownce notes are more important, but I still like having my twitter and Facebook hooked in.
    Maybe a "digest" option?
OR even better might be a set of sliders (similar to Facebook's Newsfeed preferences) to adjust the frequency of specific service updates. That way I can fine tune what is important to me, and therefor displayed more, or more frequently.

Seperator after updates Last reply on June 27, 2008 13:07.

In love with your service already, however, I would suggest adding a separator after an update on the feed. Social thing lets me know that a new feed has been posted but the only thing that let's me know which ones were added is a small increase in padding.

Basically: press the Show Updates Feeds, show the feeds and then add a separator for easy reading.

Place friends into categories. Last reply on June 27, 2008 14:47.

I'd love to see categories for my friends, i.e. co-workers, family, etc. Similar to the way IM lets you distinguish different people. That way when I'm at work, I can see what my co-workers are up to and ignore them during the weekend.

Updating Lifestream - Great Improvement Last reply on June 27, 2008 13:08.

Great job on the updates to the lifestream. Now I can leave SocialThing up all the time, instead of checking the various services. Thanks a bunch - great improvement!

Page Caching Issues... Last reply on June 21, 2008 22:09.

I would like to ask if you could tweak the page caching expiration times a bit in both the website and iphone app... the lifestream items are always out of date. I usually open the twitter site manually to see the latest tweets and responses.

Also if a person posts a new tweet, the cache should always expire. It is kind of weird if you post a message and the lifestream doesn't show it...

Thanks for the great service! Love it...

Sort tweet replies/DMs, aggregate and display profiles, tinyurl. Last reply on June 27, 2008 14:22.

Sorry, this isn't blog spam, but I've expanded on my ideas @ http://www.albiniak.com/social-media/...

I really, really like socialthing 2.0. I've ditched twhirl in favor of using this full time. I don't care about a desktop/AIR app. Keep improving what you've got going - it's a great (social)thing!

    1) It should be easier to find historical tweet replies and direct messages. If I missed it, I missed it.
    2) Tinyurl (or similar) integration a la Twhirl.
    3) Twitpic (or similar) integration a la Twhirl.
    4) Aggregate profiles for the user's lifestream I clicked on and display it. Don't make me click again (and leave your site) to see it.
    5) Have the lifestream updates follow me around the site. If this doesn't make sense, spend some time on http://www.thesixtyone.com
    6) Summize / twemes integration - it'd be so dope if I could follow a #hashtag as a lifestream right in socialthing. I'd bump this to my #1 feature request.

    I'll buy the coffee/beer/aspirin :)

YouTube favorites in the Lifestream Last reply on June 14, 2008 03:06.

I treat favorited YouTube videos from friends as recommendations and would love to have the option of seeing them in my Lifestream.

Sort/Filter Lifestream and Friendstream by Service Last reply on June 13, 2008 12:51.

It'd be cool if you could sort (or better, filter) not only by time and person, but also by service, i.e. show only flickr posts on both the Lifestream and Friendstream. Or select multiple, like show only twitter and facebook, but nothing else.

Not sure if this is already in the pipeline, but it'd be cool!

Enhanced/Quicker Post Functionality. Last reply on June 13, 2008 12:49.

I like how socialthing aggregates everything into one place, and i like the idea of posting a facebook status from here, or a twitter status from here, but i'd like the option to be able to post multiple media types to pownce without going to their site.

I think a good way to get into this would be to bring up a box with 30px x 30px icons, or maybe smaller, when you click "post", you can then select the services you wish to post to (or just select an option that says 'all') and the posting box adjusts accordingly. Therefore if you JUST click pownce you get options to post a link, file or event, but if you click multiple, you just get a normal post box. This option of being able to select the services you want to post to BEFORE you reach the text input reduces the number of clicks needed to change the services you're posting to later on. Of course maybe it would be wise to be able to select the old method in the settings pane.

Last.fm *Loved* Tracks on Socialthing! Last reply on June 13, 2008 12:51.

I'd love to have the option to share Last.fm listened tracks even _less_ often. Or better yet, turn off the listened tracks feed, and only serve the *Loved* tracks. The service we shall not speak of (ff) handles Last.fm like this, and I prefer it.

Expand flickr photos with a click Last reply on June 15, 2008 02:19.

It would be cool if the flickr photos would expand on the page when you click them instead of going to the page. Kinda like it does on the tumblr feed page.

Unified friends list Last reply on June 11, 2008 18:40.

Could you add a list of all your friends and the services they use?

e.g. I can quickly see friend A uses twitter and flickr but I've only got them added on facebook, I can then decide whether to add them on those other services or not.

Social Thing Firefox Integration Last reply on June 09, 2008 21:06.

i think that a firefox add-on might be the best way to go with this site. it'd be really nice to have all my site updates pop up in a lil box in the corner...but the site is awesome. deff will start using it for everything if the myspace integration is clean.

how about expanding the error messages Last reply on May 31, 2008 02:47.

I get the error message "pownce: There was an error fetching data" and that makes me think "what was the error?" Is there a way to give an extended error (say when you click on it?) that shows what actually happened? That way curious folks can find out and the normal, sane people can go on with their day.

lifestream as a timeline and SMS-to-Post Last reply on May 31, 2008 02:51.

right now, the lifestream groups items by person. I'd more like to see a straight timeline. also the ability to text (SMS) posts to be updated to different sites
