After changing my twitter username, ST! keeps using my old username. I've deleted the twitter info in ST, logged out / logged in, and added in the new account info -- even with a different username and password on the twitter side, ST keeps pointing to the old (non-existent) account name.
Automatic updates don't show up anymore as it was before the addition of new services. Also refreshing the page doesn't make new entries show (and there would be). Facebook status+pix are not included either.
It would seem that the iPhone version of the Socialthing website is limited to the twitter character limit. IE: On the normal site, I'm only limited to 140 characters if Twitter is listed as one of the services I intend to post to. On the iPhone version of the site however, even if I only intend to post to something like Pownce, it shows a character limit of 140.
I've signed up for SocialThing this weekend, but I am not getting my friends' Twitter posts in my Lifestream, although I see mines in my own Lifestream. Is it a known bug? Any workarounds? Thanks in advance!
I am using socialthing! in Fluid as an SSB (Site Specific Browser). I wanted to use it to replace Twitteriffic, but it seems as if it is never refreshing with new items, or doing any of the other stuff outlined in the blog post about fluid integration. I was wondering if this is a bug, or if I am doing something wrong. I have it set in fluid so when I quit the last browser window it only hides the window, so any fluid API calls and/or ajaxy stuff should be coming through.
am I the only one with problems after the 2.0 upgrade? The auto update feature is not working right (from time to time it just won't update) and there are a lot of messages by others on twitter that just won't show in socialthing.
I removed Facebook newsfeed from my lifestream but I'm still receiving friends' status updates. Even though I unchecked the box to show Facebook updates in my Lifestream they are still showing up.
So, I tried to reauthenticate with Facebook and it failed.
Steps:
I started the authentication process from my settings, which opened the shadowbox pop-up in the socialthing interface, as usual.
Took me to the Facebook auth screen where I entered my email add and password (I know they were the correct username and password, as Firefox saves and auto-fills my email address and password for Facebook).
Then, the bork... so, while still inside the shadowbox pop-up:
after the facebook auth screen, I got taken back to the socialthing home page, where I logged in again. Upon pressing "Login" after entering my email and password, I got asked if I wanted to download a file named "auth" (why not? I thought), and I clicked Ok to save it to my desktop. It was a text file that contained: {"text":"Login Failed."}. So I was doubly logged in to socialthing inside of socialthing.
Upon closing the shadowbox pop up, I can access my socialthing account with no remaining problems, although facebook is still not authenticated.
And wtf get satisfaction, why can't I post screen shots??
What happened recently that broke Socialthing and Fluid on OS X? I used to use Socialthing on my mac w/ Fluid, and now it refuses to log me in... but it works just fine in Safari... *confused*
So.. i might just be looking in the wrong place but after i merge contacts i lose some of the features/abilities that i had when they were separate entries.
For example.
John Doe Tweet - "This is my update!! "
John Doe Facebook Status- "This is my update!! "
Once these two entries are combined, i lose the ability to reply to the tweet.
Any suggestions?
When I logged in today, both pownce and flicker gave me errors and didn't appear in my lifestream. I just upgraded to ffb5 so perhaps there's a compatibility issue.
I've just noticed that in the "conversations" (specifically a comment from pownce) that flickr links are chopping off early. The auto-convert http://etc to a hyperlink is stopping at the @ sign in the link, so the link is missing @N00 from the end (in this particular case). I guess that there needs to be a few more non alpha-numeric characters added to the auto link preg_match.
