Service "digest" option or more fine tuning preferences.

So, socialthing.com is pretty slick.
However, with twitter and Facebook added, the stream is overloaded with less important information. My friend's less frequent flickr photos, del.icio.us bookmarks, Youtube videos, and Pownce notes are more important, but I still like having my twitter and Facebook hooked in.
Maybe a "digest" option?
OR even better might be a set of sliders (similar to Facebook's Newsfeed preferences) to adjust the frequency of specific service updates. That way I can fine tune what is important to me, and therefor displayed more, or more frequently.

Privacy problem with Facebook

Congratulations about Socialthing! I really like it... The best advantage for me is that we don't need to search for friends again!!

I don't know if this is valid but if it is then Socialthing may face several issues with privacy of Facebook users. I explain:
Some of my friends have their profiles-photos etc visible only to their friends. If such a friend post new pictures then I see them in my Socialthing Friendstream...So if I permit facebook updates to appear even only to my facebook friends in Socialthing then they will be able to see the private photos of a friend of mine that they are not friends with! Is that correct ? If yes it can lead to various problems!

Limited profile included in "Facebook friends"?

Please would you tell me whether Facebook users who are included on the Facebook "Limited Profile" list are considered to be "Friends on the Facebook service" within SocialThing?

I ask because I have my status updates on Facebook visible only to users who are not on my Limited Profile. If those users join SocialThing, they will see information that I have configured to be protected in my Facebook settings. This may also apply to posted items or other Facebook activity.

Please would you confirm?

Can I tell socialthing when two accounts from two different services are really the same person? This is super easy in multi-protocol chat clients like Adium and it would really help me out! People often post the same thing to facebook & twitter and it would be nice to see them merged into one event.

Socialthing should link to Facebook "wall-to-wall" and "send message" pages for my friends (besides linking to their profile). That is, when I see someone's status in my lifestream, I should be able to click "send X a message" or "wall-to-wall" to easily send them a public (wall) or private message.

Asking for my passwords makes you sound like a phisher

Just got my SocialThing invite. Thank you. Signed in. First thing it wants are my Twitter and Facebook passwords.

Dudes, I don't know you this well. Err, actually -- I don't know anyone this well.

Yes, I know you want my Twitter password "to use the API." In other words, to fetch my followers? To tweet on my behalf? Will you store this? Will you tweet an ad for your service? What's all this? Not only do you ask for my password, you won't tell me how you'll use it?

And how the hell did you manage to make Facebook ask for my Facebook password when I'm logged in? Just grab an infinite session key. It requires me to check a box and hit OK. This thing made me suspicious and queasy.

And you know what? FriendFeed and MyBlogLog didn't ask me for any passwords. And they had lots more services for me to fill in than Twitter and Facebook.

So anyway. I left it at that for now. Perhaps I'll check back some time later to see if you still want my passwords.

Repeat Facebook status updates throughout

Sometimes when I go to "socialthing.com", one certain facebook status update always repeats every two entries or so. So say person A posted an update, every two or three entries would always be person A's update. However, when I refresh the lifestream, the dupes go away.

Socialthing! fails to combine synchronized Twitter & Facebook statuses when the Facebook status is given a customized prefix

With TwitterSync, people are able to update Twitter and have it synced with Facebook without that preposterous 'is twittering:' prefix. However, since Facebook's status is based around 'be' verbs, some users have configured TwitterSync to prepend something else (which, to me, defeats the purpose), such as 'says'. It's clear that, when you combine two contacts which also combines their Twitter and Facebook statuses, Socialthing! already has it in place to filter out 'is twittering:' due to the prevalence of it. Is it possible for Socialthing! to filter out all prefixes so that the two statuses are combined again?

Facebook/Twitter updates

Many of my friends use both Twitter and Facebook, and have their tweets update their Facebook status. This basically results in double posts. Is there a way/option to filter out Facebook status updates that contain "is twittering:"?
