I treat favorited YouTube videos from friends as recommendations and would love to have the option of seeing them in my Lifestream.

I am loving Socialthing! more and more each day.

Socialthing causes Twitter overload

I had to turn Socialthing! off because it was hitting Twitter too hard, causing me to get "Limit Exceeded" messages in Twhirl.

Sorry, Socialthing! Until there's an AIR or other desktop client, Twhirl wins. With the few services you offer, I'm not sure what value it gives me over other multi-service aggregators.

When will full integration of friends' details occur?

How do I integrate all of my friends' updates? On Friendfeed, I have the ability to add friends. With Socialthing!, I'm guessing that those updates that I DO see are from those who already have a Socialthing! acct. Help?!?

Multiple social apps equals one hell of a update list

Is there a way to show a feed from only one app at a time? I like keeping up to date, but showing all updates on one board gets overwhelming. And the other social groups I am with are yet to be incorporated into socialthing.

API outage notification system?

What would be interesting to think about implementing, if I were doing this, is a way to notify users when a third-party site causes a socialthing! service interruption. Especially if st is aware of an external issue, as with the Flickr API (mentioned in the reply to the problem I reported yesterday).

This would have been useful to me yesterday @Twhirl when it suddenly dropped avatars b/c the Twitter API changed twice in a few hours. Other users complained about Twhirl, not realizing it wasn't the product's fault. It'd be unfortunate for people to leave st b/c of something that isn't your site. Generally, some users also complain about "features" of third party Twitter clients that are actually attributed to the API (like that max # of tweet requests you can make in an hour).

A possible downside to this may be notifying users that something is temporarily effed if they aren't already noticing it, although it might be worth it to users who are noticing errors to know it's not st.

You've probably thought about this already, it's probably a buttload of feedback mediation work but you guys do such a stellar job already, I can't help but think the idea may be useful and possible.

Features dissappearing after contact merger.

So.. i might just be looking in the wrong place but after i merge contacts i lose some of the features/abilities that i had when they were separate entries.

For example.

John Doe Tweet - "This is my update!! "
John Doe Facebook Status- "This is my update!! "

Once these two entries are combined, i lose the ability to reply to the tweet.
Any suggestions?

Possible to merge contacts in the lifestream?

Is there a way to merge contacts?
For example, I have a friend who is on both Twitter and Facebook and when he makes updates i see two separate updates which are visually disconnected.. Is there a way to have them visually grouped together like what happens when someone makes successive updates ?

did that make sense?

Twitter issues

Yo guys - I thought friendfeed was good, but you lot blow it out of the water!!

Anyway...just wanted to know if there was an issue with adding Twitter as a service? I am struggling to log in at the moment.

Thanks

What extra services will we be having soon?

I'd love to know what the upcoming services will be that will be included in SocialThing. A suggestions page would be nice. I'd like to have the option to include my friend's blog/RSS feeds (though as there is no "central" blog-SN, it makes things trickier, I agree), Seesmic videos, del.icio.us links, Google Reader Shared items.

Are there technical constraints preventing you from adding them, or is it just that it takes time? Would be nice to know what's in the works, what's not going to happen, etc.

When i try to authenticate Flickr, Vimeo, and Facebook to My Services list they should open in a new tab or a new window where the address bar is visible. I refuse to enter passwords into a window where I can't tell what the URL is. Plus I shouldn't even have to use a Facebook password since you can use an application.

Why do you want my Twitter password?

Why do you need my twitter password? My connections are public and so are my updates so why the password?

(edited to tone it down... i'm not _that_ mad.)

If you want the password to be some sort of claiming, why not ask the users to direct message your user through twitter with some Hash key you guys give each user? Private and efficient. No need to ask for passwords.
