Adding Twitter as a service fails with correct login data

Adding Twitter as a service fails with the message that it failed to login to Twitter. I double, triple, and so on rechecked my user and password, i resetted my twitter password and used the new one, changed it back and used the new old password, it tells me every time that it couldn't log onto twitter. This really annoys me, so please kcan someone look into that issue?
