Auto refresh would be spiffy
It would be spiffy if the app auto refreshed every 5 minutes or so. If it already does, I'm not seeing it.

In the next iteration, we go out and look for new updates every 15 minutes (for most services, as services like Twitter will have the ability to refresh faster). Whenever these new updates come in, we inform you that there are X new updates available, you can then choose to load them in or ignore it. We decided upon this way of doing it because otherwise, if you're in the middle of reading something at that 15 minute mark, and it automatically loads in new info, it might move you around in the page and become confusing.
Hope this works for you guys!

Inappropriate?Good idea :) we'd like to account for those users who love us enough to keep it up in their browsers. So we'll get auto-refresh in there very soon!

Inappropriate?Nice idea. This would made Socialthing even better than the Twitter webpage.
i hope this makes sense, sorry for my buggy english :P -
Inappropriate?I really like this idea. I'd keep it open all day at work if it auto-refreshed.
-
Inappropriate? It took me a while to figure out that it was not auto-refreshing (I thought twitter was just really dead at first)
I’m non-plussed

Inappropriate?Could we go one step further and have it trickle in like a true stream (all ajaxy and stuff)? That'd be hot.

Inappropriate?I already asked the developers about AJAXy push, especially on the iPhone, and they said there were several issues including not wanting to ping the sites they scrape from too often to be annoying. Still, it's the killer feature that would get me to use this ALL the time.
The alternative would be an AIR or Twitterific-style application (which would essentially replace Twitterific for me).
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? They could just ping however often they do now, and when updates come in AJAX them in instead of making you reload the page (ie, by having the AJAX ping themselves periodically). No sweat.
On another note - ew, please not AIR -
