Also, we're planning on allowing you to add any ST! user as a friend...but we will auto-friend you with anyone that you're already friends with somewhere else on the internet...

Jhames, you cannot actually befriend a user on Socialthing! The point behind this is that we want you to be able to see what all your friends are doing without having to create another social network of friends again, and so that you can see all of your friends' info without them having to be on Socialthing!
However, we will eventually have user profiles so that you can see who is on it and see their profile. :)

Inappropriate? This is why I love Socialthing! You don't have to re-friend anyone. And it's such an important differentiator from similar services like FriendFeed, I think you guys should find a succinct way to promote this feature on your home page.
I’m proud to know you.

Inappropriate?i would love to see an explanation on how the friend-discovery works. i dont know if friend X is really being followed by socialthing.
-
Inappropriate?Friend Discovery will allow you to see the missing links between your friends and you. For example, if you're on Facebook and Twitter and so is one of your friends and you're not friends with them on those services, it will show you that. It will ask if you'd like to add them as friends on the sites where you are not already friends.
I hope this makes sense, I know its a little confusing.

Inappropriate?"Friend Discovery will allow you to see the missing links between your friends and you." its that initial of set of friends that im asking about. how do you define 'your friends'. you can be as technical as possible with your answer. i can handle it. :) I work with XFN discovery which I'm guessing socialthing uses.
an about page or FAQ would be really nice. -
Inappropriate? It takes your friends from the services you sign into. So it takes your friends from twitter, compares them to your friends on facebook, and then says "hey this guy is on both, but you're not friends with him on both"

Inappropriate?is Friend Discovery working correctly? I have some friends that are my friends on Twitter but not in Facebook (although they are on both) and I don't see any suggestion from Socialthing. Any idea ? Where the suggestions should appear ?
-
Inappropriate?Friend Discovery is not yet up and running. Its an upcoming feature for ST! So until then, you won't be seeing suggestions. But when it comes, you will be amazed! :D
I’m excited

Inappropriate?how did this topic get hijacked? the topic is "Can I friend other socialthing! users?", not 'Tell me more about a feature that is not deployed yet'.
I have friends on socalthing, i can see their posts. If i cannot explicitly "friend" a socialthing user because it is done for me, how is the list of friends created? -
Inappropriate? It scrapes your lists of friends from the services you put into socialthing.

I am waiting with bated breath for the next update to Socialthing! I admire the path your team is taking in aggregating social networks. It is patient, planned, and elegant. Keep up the good work.
