I can haz Cache?
It seems like there isn't any cache in the Lifestream, because it pings the other sites every time I open Socialthing...
What i would see happening is the following: if the sites have been pinged and results have been shown previously, these are kept in some sort of cache so the next time I open the Lifestream I see all previous events straight away, and I only have to wait for new ones to load.
The cache wouldn't be kept for that long either, as events are replaced by new ones in the list 'fold' (top area of the list) every 24 hours or so; depending on how active your Lifestream is.
And if my idea of 'never-ending Lifestream' is considered, those items would be looked up and loaded as you scrolled down rather than taken from a cache.

Inappropriate? You're right on target. If you've noticed we haven't been releasing a ton of new features. That's because we're already hard at work with what you're talking about. We've been working on a archiving mechanism that constantly goes and fetches new data throughout the day. This way we don't miss many (if any) Twitter posts, RSS posts, etc.
This will also allow us to do a WAP site for mobile phones, our API, RSS feeds, etc. It opens up so many possibilities.
So thanks for the suggestion...glad to report that we're already hard at work on it!
I’m excited
The company and 3 other people think
this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? This is great especially given the problems twitter has. It should throttle the number of requests it makes to twitter also to ensure that we don't get hammered with the 30 request limit 10 minutes into an hour.
