It would be cool to see this plugin integrate with the Flickr and Facebook photo feeds on socialthing!
However, it's a good plugin in general. I recommend it. Using it with Safari currently.

Inappropriate?The more interactive the Lifestream is, the better no doubt. I think it's a good idea. I've left the Lifestream many times via new window etc. just to look at a picture. Sometimes I forget to come back or end up having too many windows open.

Inappropriate?I have contacted PicLens about integration. Since PicLens derives its site support from its own product, and not from help of the actual site, we have to wait for them to actually provide support. I will let you know what they say.
