Inappropriate?Be RESTful
-
+1 -
Inappropriate?How about Last.fm, Blogger & Digg ?
-
That has nothing to do with the functionality of their API. -
I love that idea! -
Inappropriate?Let me give you a URL, and when something happens, you post to me at that URL.
I’m confident
-
Or an XMPP pubsub API like Twitter has recently started using -
Inappropriate?Here's what I'd want:
* Ability to search for user accounts by email address (ie, I pass you an email address, you pass me a userid)
* Ability to pull a list of 3rd-party accounts attached to a userid
* Ability to pull a list of user activity by userid
* Ability to post activity to a user's activity log with customization (e.g., brand it as coming from my application rather than appearing as a generic link)
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?i would like to be able to reply on the iPhone web app to twitter and pownce.
It would rock if I could send private messages from twitter or pownce.
Also if I'm posting something If I'm sending to twitter, and decide that I want to reply to someone and I write "@", that it pops a list of users, that's probably too much, and dont really know if that's possible from the twitter end. But maybe we can set a favorite list on locally on socialthing which remembers the "@username" and "!username"(pownce) for just those users.
P.S. a desktop client via Adobe AIR would be awesome!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?I would like to add an rss tab so you look at your friends and then read your news all in he same place. But not combine it make it, its own tab. Also a desktop app and not sure if it is possible to watch videos and stuff in the app itself and not have to be redirected like with qik. I really like the app and am getting good use.
Thanks,
-
Inappropriate?Ok people...this discussion is for the API (for developers*) not new features added to the site!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I would like to be able to GET a user's icon using a userid or email.
I would also like to be able to POST to all or selected services (ie twitter, pownce, ...)
I would like to be able to GET users' POSTS from a specific time interval.
An interface to use a combination of Twitter & Pownce api would be great.
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate? These are great ideas guys...definitely will help us define what we do with our API...
Keep em coming!
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?Hey guys...anyone in on this discussion, if you're not in the Google Group for the API, we'd love to have you...
http://groups.google.com/group/social... -
Inappropriate?+1 a desktop client via Adobe AIR would be awesome!
-
Agreed, before social thing I used to have twhirl and pownce .AIR apps running, would be great to have a single one. -
+1 for a desktop app. Take socialthing to the desktop and it'd be pretty sweet. -
Inappropriate?Use of standards (RSS or ATOM / microformats) for as much as possible + OAuth for authentication.
List of actions for one user. List of actions for all friends of one user. Just the links (tweeted or bookmarked or blog permalinks, etc) for one or more users.
APML? You have a lot of attention data on people, this could be interesting.
APP support for the posting API. AtomPub in general could work well for a lot of your data (read and write) - but with OAuth, not BasicAuth.
JSONP as a secondary option on everything public (if anything) would be nice... JSONP maybe behind OAuth as well, although it's less useful there (JS can do OAuth though, so maybe).
Get list of user's profiles / user's friends (XFN + hCard)
Ability to add/remove profiles to a user's account. -
Inappropriate?A way to inject external data into my socialthing stream. If I want to import my studiVZ.de updates, I should be able to write software (on my end) that grabs these updates and sends them to socialthing in a unified format.
Basically, an interface to add support for arbitrary services. Outsource the support for new services to the users that care about them!
I’m confident
-
with this it would be nice if the API could decipher from upload and storage services from micro-blogging or text only services that don't allow images or files to be uploaded. -
Inappropriate?I'd love to publish a pretty lifestream on my site, so a sample API-wielding widget or two would be a big help.
-
To that end, I mentioned it elsewhere, a custom domain feature so instead of hosting the "pretty lifestream", I can just re-direct to it. If I can then wrap that with my theme (header, sidebar, etc.) to have it mesh with my site, I would be extremely happy. -
And definitely be able to choose what is on this 'public lifestream' -
Inappropriate? Please add the ability to reply to tweets on the iphone version of ST. The new reply feature that was added to the site does not show up on my phone.
-
already in there ;) we've added it, and as soon as we push version 2.0 you'll see it! -
Inappropriate?I would love to be able to limit the amount of facebook updates that are on the lifestream. I want to be able to choose what friends i see and the kinds of updates i see. Other than that i love this website
-
Inappropriate?I'd love to see when people write on my facebook wall. Dunno if the facebook API will allow it, but that feature would add a lot of usability for me
I’m glad st! listens
-
Inappropriate?Tumblr, for me it has to be that. ;)
I’m excited at the prospect of having the premier blogging service added to SocialThing! in (what I hope) is the very near future. Oh, and I have a really long mood too.
-
Inappropriate?I'm a big fan of Twhirl for Twitter. I'd love the Socialthing API to be similar.
I’m hopeful.
-
Inappropriate?first impression is that this is a great site for aggregating updates from multiple social sites but i'd need to be able to post status/microblog updates to all the same sites for me to make this the page that i manage my social networks through. if you could just combine the functionality of ST! and ping.fm you'd have everything i need. i'm sure you're already working on that since i see that i can post to facebook and twitter from it but the fact that i can post to a ton more from ping.fm tells me that there's still work to go on this site. good work on the user interface so far and best of luck with the site!
-
Inappropriate?is there a way to 'un-vote' for a service in the 'vote' tab?
