We'd love to get a desktop app out there for sure...but right now there's a decent amount of other stuff on our plate. Our anticipation is that once we get our API out there that lots of people will create all their own desktop apps...like Twhirl for instance...

Thanks for the tip, I tried it out, but it's not really what I'm looking for. Like I said, I'm in love with Twhirl. The one thing I really find useful in a widget is the little popup in the corner that displays new content. That way, I don't have to continuously visit a website to see if there's anything new, it's delivered straight to me.

in fact I just made a desktop app using prism. Just follow the instructions given in the video linked above, but use prism instead. Oh and make sure to use the socialthing.com/iphone UI it is much better.

Yep, I am talking about a desktop application. I figured I was jumping the gun. Unfortunately, I'm not on a Mac. :(

Are you talking about a desktop application? We do have that planned however it is a little ways off.

If you are on a Mac, one of the people using Socialthing!, Ross LaRocco, made a great video of how to use Fluid to make a desktop app out of our iPhone site.
