Fatal Error running the 'Creating a JRuby Plugin' Example

The 'Creating a JRuby Plugin' Example (18-4) does not seem to work for me. When I run the `mvn install` command, I get the following error:

Hi. There appears to be a problem with the link to the examples. I literally clicked on the link in the pdf file on page 18 (Chapter 3) to www.sonatype.com/book/examples-1.0 and got the following forbidden message :-(

the part that reads
"We recommend installing the most recent version of
Maven 2.0.9 as there have been a number of critical bug fixes and
improvements since Maven 2.0.9 was released."
should probably use "2.0.6" as the last version number (or else it makes no sense)

Machine Error with Second Printing of Maven Book

I bought the book from Amazon and the printing I have all of the command line text has been converted to little boxes, making the examples impossible to follow. I'm so disappointed in this book. It looked to have excellent content otherwise.

I love the Sonatype Maven book, but the many grammatical errors in it are painful to read. Is there any way we readers could be allowed to correct them by directly editing the text? There are far, far too many errors of this kind for me to send an email listing them all.

Printed Book References Extension Mechanism in Simpe Web Application Chapter

The second bullet (2) in p 108 is confusing. Compare with bullet (4). Bullet 4 seems to be the correct paragraph, and bullet 2 a previous one.
Also bullet 2 uses the "extension" mechanism, which is not recommended in the note in the following page ( 109 )

So, it seems that bullet 2 was the original version, then it was deprecated in favor of bullet 4 and explained in p109, but bullet 2 wasn't removed

Encoding Problems in the PDF Book (??? characters)

Seems both the book and the PDF version have some encoding issues. For example, see Chapter 9 you will see many "???" everywhere. I see this throughout the book however I'm looking at chapter 9 and it's very difficult to get any clear information. Extract from book (PDF):
"For example, if your project has a version of ???1.0-SNAPSHOT??? and you deploy this project???s artifacts to a Maven repository,"

Cross-platform Profile Activiation: Is Example 11.4 Correct?

Example 11.4: Problems with including OS check and file exists check. I am trying to check for linux and a file exists. If on windows the profile does not trigger. On linux the profile always executes. I took out the os check and then the file exists check worked. So I do not know what I am doing wrong.

error in settings.xml example

The settings file example contains a couple "emdash" character rather than the proper html comment tags i.e.

This causes problems when cutting/pasting into a local version.
