M2Eclipse is slow!
M2Eclipse is updating ALL THE time (E.g. Every time I start Eclipse). This takes a loooong time. It takes so long, and it blocks my entire eclipse, so that I had to deinstall it. Now I am using "mvn eclipse:eclipse", when NEEDED (instead of every time I start Eclipse). That's much faster and easier.
(Btw, even if I actually made changes, it took way longer for M2Eclipse to realize those changes and to update eclipse then I could hack a "mvn eclipse:eclipse"...

Inappropriate?I'd also be interested in know what version of m2eclipse you were running. The latest version of m2eclipse-dev are very fast as they are using the soon to be released Maven 3 as a foundation.
I'd say try again, I'm impressed by how much m2eclipse has improved over the last year.
I’m confident

I'm using 200909092308, it still blocks the entire IDE quite often when building the workspace, no comparison to Eclipse's internal compiler...
By the way, isn't it double work having both the Java Builder and the Maven Project Builder run?
