Import Bookmarks from other Web Browsers

Add a Import Bookmark feature. Users will be able to import bookmarks from other web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. An Import Bookmark feature would smooth the transition for users deciding to make Songbird their primary web browser.

Avoid creating duplicates in library when adding playlists

Is there a way to add a previously created playlist without creating duplicates in the library. I had playlists created in WMP and was wanting to use them in Songbird, but when ever i import a playlist, it creates duplicates of all the songs in my library.

Importing "ratings" from iTunes

I'm using Songbird on Linux and I'd like to import the "Rating" I've given to each song in iTunes from my iTunes library. However, when I try to import the xml-file as a playlist, nothing happens. I'd like to know if there's a way to do it, as I ratings to choose what songs I upload to my ipod.

Artist and Album info not updated on scan for media

When i use "scan for media" in my music folder on songbird 0.6, it does not update the details for all the songs in terms of adding artists and albums. It started doing this but obviously stopped as all the artists a-b where done but part way through c they cut off. All i am left with is the actual file name as the song.

However when i play each song, it updates this information manually. But with over 15000 files, it's not something i can do manually.

Hi,
How can I backup/import my songbird-database? I'm sick of loosing my ratings and play-counts everytime I had to create a new profile (because something isn't working after an update).

It would be REALLY cool, if someone could provide an easy way to import the database (not the whole profile!). Perhaps someone could make an extension, too?

I think especially the add-on or feather-developer, who are usually using the youngest RCs and Betas, would really profit...

Hey!
I love this new music player, because it is even now the best I've ever used!
But there are some features I'm still missing:

- Album Rating
- possibility to say what a key does, example: double klick to add the song to the now playing playlist
- Use Jamendo as a Store (there is an addon, but it is bad :(
- Random playlist (like Partylist in Itunes)

By the way, I have a problem to get my ratings from my old Itunes. I've switched to Ubuntu, so Songbird does not see that I've Itunes in Windows XP. Is there a way to just pick the ituneslibrary.xml to import the ratings? The actual Addon doesn't do the Job. Even emulating Itunes via wine doesn't work.

Thats it :) I'm looking forward to the next version of my favourite media player :)

I notice, when importing anything from a remote drive (network drive), there is absolutely no artist name, no album name or genre importet. Very sad, I have all my media centrally.
It seems only working when I have it imported from a local drive.
Is there any hope?

I'd love to import my itunes playlists, and I see the option to do that in the File menu, but am I supposed to know where my itunes playlist files are? Because I don't. And some rudimentary snooping in my iTunes.resources folder sure doesn't get me far.

Metadata import from mp4 extension files

Importing a mpeg4 audio file (aac Format) with a .mp4 extension, the metadata is not importet into songbird 0.7.
Importing the same file with the extension .m4a the metadata is importet correct.
I ran songbird 0.7 on a windows system. Quicktime and Windows Media Extension are installed. Playing both is not a Problem.

Ubuntu 64bit from deb file doesn't allow connection to nas box. The drive is mounted and visible as a smb drive. i can navigate to it from the scan for media option,select the folder then nothing happens... please help

Shouldn't songbird's itunes library importer also fetch the artwork (the iTunes missing covers fetcher seems much better than songbirds). which brings me to the fact that other sites besides amazon should be used to fetch missing covers and to avoid conflict, it should have a priorities list

SB won't import all my music

Songbird is not importing all of my music. I have everything in a folder, however, when I point SB at it via 'import media' I only end up with 21 artists imported.

I have also tried importing my up-to-date itunes library file, with the same result.

Much prefer the new look btw. This is the 3rd time I've tried Songbird, and I ditched it both times cos it's still too buggy. If I can sort this issue out I'll stick with it.

Hi.

I've been using Amarok up until I found Songbird. There is, however, one feature I really miss which Songbird (apparently) lacks: if I have a folder with a new album which hasn't been incorporated to my library yet, I would like to be able to select that folder from Songbird and let Songbird move those files to my "music" folder, sort them out (in a specific folder, such as /artist/album/artist - song.mp3) and add them to my library.
Is there anyway to do that?

If not, how can I select a folder of MP3s and import them to my library without having to rescan my WHOLE collection (I have quite a few songs and it takes a lot of time).
